Budget Beauty | Makeup Gallery...

With big commitments and changes this year, we have a lot more money going out and a lot less coming in, meaning those expensive beauty products I have become oh so familiar with in the past few years are about to become a thing of the past, or limited to luxury at least. With this in mind, I decided to take a look at some budget beauty, after all, beauty guru Sally Hughes once said 'A good quality brush will make cheap eye shadow go on like silk and allow Superdrug blusher to pass for Dior.' Now I may have gone to the complete extreme end of 'budget beauty' but I wanted to see whether I really do need to spend the prices I do on makeup for it to actually look good or whether some budget brands may have their own hidden gems.

When I popped into my local Poundland and saw they had a new makeup range called 'THE MAKEUP GALLERY I instantly fell in love with the packaging, simple and understated yet classically timeless, I couldn't help myself! A whole £3 later and I had myself, what I could usually only justify with three new 'research materials for the blog' but this time I didn't even have to feel the slightest bit guilty, my only regrets were not buying more!

Feeling Blush Blusher in 4 Coral Rose

A gorgeous dusky rose pink with coral undertones, this powder blusher actually quite surprised me, the pigmentation is light but easily buildable.  Upon swatch, the pigmentation doesn't look promising, however apply with a heavy hand and you can pick up a fair amount of colour. I like how well this layers up yet how easily blendable this is, allowing you to to apply lightly for daytime or built up for the evening and the lasting power isn't too shabby either, with a good 4-5 hours solid wear before it starts to fade.

Pro Liquid Eyeliner

This has to be my absolute favourite pick of the finds and could well be the 'hidden gem' I was looking for. Now, me and liquid liners don't get on so well, I'm better with a felt nip, something more for the amateurs you might say. I wish I was that girl, that can do the perfect cat eye, right on point, every time, with any eyeliner, I'm sure some of you are with me on that, right? But sadly I'm not! I've used so many liquid eyeliners like this one before, however usually the nib is so rough, that applying the product stings my eyes as I drag the nib across my lash line, so I gave up on this type years ago. I'm not actually sure what made me pick this one up, given my record, however I am so glad I did! The nib on this one is soft and flexible, which for some might not work, but for me is perfect! It doesn't drag, but be warned, you do need a steady hand! This applies like a dream and literally lasts all day long, I've even slept in it, yep, lazy, I know! and it was still perfectly in place come morning! This has become my everyday staple and I urge you to try it, after all, if you don't like it, it cost you less than your take-out coffee!

All About the Pout Colour Moisture Lipstick in 17 Deep Red

This moisture colour lipstick is so soft, it glides over the lips with such ease, allowing you to apply it to even the dryest of lips, without any tell tale signs. It leaves lips hydrated and moisturised all day long and is such a gorgeous colour! A deep berry red, the kind that makes your teeth look a little whiter, that is perfect for all occasions and stays put in your handbag at all times, just incase a red lip is needed, you never know who you might need to impress! The only downside to this lipstick is the staying power, don't get me wrong, it definitely tries to cling on, just make sure you stay away from food or drink, or you will be reapplying! But for £1? I don't mind touching up!

So if your itching to buy some new makeup but only have spare change, I would definitely recommend checking out Poundland's new makeup range!

Would you try it?

Love
