Debenhams Gift Guide | For her £20 and under...

I don't know if this post is a little too early but I already have Christmas on the brain so I thought I'd try and rub off on you too! The Debenhams gift guide really caught my eye this year, I love that Debenhams sell a variety of products, from clothes to makeup and even homeware, so there's something for everyone! I've decided to swap my Wishlist Wednesday post for Christmas Gift guides, because let's face it, Christmas will be here before we know it! Me and Dan will hopefully be moving into our house next month and we only have two paychecks left until Christmas, now that's scary! so it's going to be pretty costly to say the least, with that in mind I have tried to aim for lower priced items, kicking the series off with £20 and under options. I hope you like it...

Im hoping these little picks help you out with your Christmas shopping!

Next week I'll focus on the male species...

My Little Box and Diane Von Furstenberg Collaberation...

Just two weeks ago I received my first My Little Box and I was so happy with it that I decided to carry on my subscription, you can see my post here. Because I subscribed to last month's box late, it meant that I received this one very quickly after, if only they did a fortnightly box!

This month's box is a collaboration with the lovely Diane Von Furstenberg! If you don't know who she is, where have you been? Just kidding, I wasn't entirely sure myself! So I decided to do a little research! Diane was once a real life Princess, married to the Prince of Furstenberg she gained her title, however following their divorce in 1972, although she lost the title, she decided to keep the family name. In 1997 Diane re-launched her fashion company and re-introduced her famous wrap dress that is so iconic today. With Diane's company now being a global luxury lifestyle brand with 85 stores worldwide, she is listed as the 68th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes. Wow what a woman, eh?!

'Be the Woman you want to be!'

I absolutely adore these printed cards that come in each box and as I said in my last post, I plan to frame these and put them in my office, I'm thinking of doing a feature wall with all of the prints, as so far they are pretty inspirational and will certainly pick me up on a rainy day!

The Lifestyle products...

My Little Box include their own magazine each month called My Little World which focuses on the theme with a few added extras. This month's focuses on Diane von Furstenberg's style and features interviews with the Belgian actress Hande Kodja, Diane's niece and Diane herself, as well as a makeup tutorial and some delicious recipes. Yep, they cover all bases!

I love a good scarf, especially a statement one, they can completely transform an outfit and you will hardly ever find me without one wrapped around my neck, so I was excited to see this one in a DVF print! There was also 'a kiss from Diane' Lip Brooch which 'effortlessly embodies the confidence and joie de vivre of Diane von Furstenberg.' I think this will jazz up a coat or bag and is a nice little touch to the box as it gives a personalised edge.

The beauty products...

Again I was happy with this months beauty products, although not as exciting as last months, I don't know if they'll ever top that one, these are all products that I do and will use! They came in the little cream bag but this time instead of the little bow logo printed all over, this bag has a DVF logo on the front, can I now claim I have a designer bag?

I adore L'occitane handcreams, so much so, that I have one in each of my most used bags! These hand creams always smell so good and this Vanilla Bouquet Hand Cream is no exception. I love how they sink into skin so effortlessly, leaving skin so soft, without any greasiness that other handcreams often leave. This one may just have to replace the one under my desk at work.

I've never tried anything from the Keratase Couture Styling range so this Hairspray really intrigued me, the mini size makes it perfect to fit in my handbag for day or a clutch at night. It promises to offer 24 hour hold anti-humidity shield with anti-frizz protection and it smells pretty good too!

I've tried a fair few micellar waters since the hype took over the bloggersphere, so I was extremely excited to see this My Little Beauty Micellar Water in this month's box. With Aloe Vera and orange extract, this leaves skin feeling so soft and smooth. I've only used it a handful of times but I'm already in love!

I can't wait to see what they have in store for next month!

Have you subscribed yet?

L'oreal Paris Mini Haul and Review...

L'oreal Paris True Match Foundation £9.99 | L'oreal Paris True Match Powder £18.19 | L'oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds £6.99

When I popped into Boots for a face powder the other day, the last edges of my Maybelline Matte Maker had finally crumbled, I didn't quite get what I went in for, you know the drill, we all do it, that little 3 for 2 offer caught my eye and before I knew it my basket was full. Now L'oreal can seriously do no wrong in my eyes, I don't think I have ever bought a product from them that I didn't like, so when I realised that Boots didn't have any of my favourite powders in my colour, I decided to try one from the L'oreal True Match range and of course it wouldn't have been worth trying out if I didn't try out the famous True Match foundation from them too, then before I knew it a lipstick in Blake's red just fell in alongside them, among a basket full of other products too!

True Match Foundation

Although I love my Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation, I don't like to wear it on a daily basis because not only is it an expensive foundation to keep replacing but it's also quite a thick foundation, which doesn't suit my skin when used on a constant basis. I prefer a lighter foundation for everyday and I have been loving using the True Match foundation. What surprises me the most about this foundation is that it provides a fair amount of coverage to say how lightweight the formula is, I would say that the coverage is medium but buildable and leaves you with a dewy finish. The lasting power is quite average, giving a good 5-6 hours of good coverage before it starts to fade.

True Match Powder

I'm not a dewy foundation kind of girl, I always prefer to powder over the top of my base to give a more matte finish. As I mentioned before, I bought this powder as Boots didn't have the others I went in for in my colour, but I was more than happy to try it out as it had been on my list for a while already. I like that this powder doesn't add too much colour to your face, I went for the same colour that I had matched myself to in the foundation, however I think I could have gone a colour or two lighter, I keep forgetting we're in Autumn already! This powder sets nicely without settling into any fine lines or creases and it really helps to keep my foundation on for that little bit longer!

Color Riche Exclusive Red in Blake's Red

Before I went blonde I could never wear red lipstick, I'm not sure why, maybe it was a confidence thing, but I just couldn't bring myself to wear it in public. Then when I went blonde, I fell in love with red lips and I haven't looked back since. I have to admit, I didn't need another red lipstick, I have so many already but I love the Color Riche exclusive lipsticks and they just looked too good to miss out on! Blake's red is a gorgeous red with a slight berry tone to it and I was seriously impressed with the staying power! I wore this to Frankie and Benny's last weekend and both Danny and his mum asked if I had used some sort of sealer because a pizza and a glass of wine later, the lipstick was still perfectly in place!

Have you bought anything from L'oreal lately?

Wishlist Wednesday | Matalan Home Edit...

Im sure you all know by now, but if you don't, I am currently waiting on a completion date for mine and Dans first home, which means I spend a good chunk of my spare time house shopping or wishlisting at least! When we move in, we will be moving just down the road from our local Matalan, which is a pretty brave move to make as my entire wages will probably end up being spent in there, after the bills come out of course!

If you have seen my Instahauls, see here, then you will have probably already guessed that I have a cream and hearts kind of theme going on. I wasnt particularly going for a theme, it just kind of happened along the way and ive decided to stick with it! The heart shaped mirror will look perfect in my downstairs toilet and the sign could go in the downstairs hall. We already have some heart print glasses but I think these ones will mix in nicely with the set. The owl mug doesn't really go with my kitchenware but I couldn't help including it as its super, I guess it kinda fits in with the colour scheme!

With Winter fast commencing, I have become a little obsessed with cosy cushions and throws, who the hell am I trying to kid?! I've always been obsessed! We don't have a real fire, the one that the homeowners are leaving us is electrical but I love a touch of rustic decor and think the log basket will look perfect in the corner with a throw and a magazine or two displayed in it! I am such a messy person but I hate to see clutter so these storage boxes will look lovely next to the TV stand or in my office to store Cds and DVDs in!

A house never feels like a home without the finishing touches like this bell jar candle and these decorative perfume bottles, which I will probably put on a table in the hall whilst these laterns will keep my conservatory looking cosy in the evening.

I could have included a hell of a lot more in this wishlist but I wouldn't want to bore you guys, so here's the link if you want to check the collection out for yourself! Have you bought anything from Matalan recently?!

Online Shopping with The Hut Group | Look Fantastic, Beauty Expert and HQ Hair...

Before I started beauty blogging, I never shopped online for beauty products, not because I didn't want to but because I wasn't aware of any websites that I knew were reliable. Fast forward nearly two years and I now actually buy most of my beauty products online with The Hut Group owning some of the biggest beauty havens out there! With websites such as Look Fantastic, HQ Hair and Beauty Expert under their belt, there is no wonder they are the 'UK's leading, multi-website online retailer with rapidly growing international operations.'

I was kindly sent a few products from The Hut Group a couple of weeks ago to try out and I couldn't have been happier with the products I received - Concealer and brush, nail polish, cuticle oil and a styling spray, the range of products shows just how varied the products are that the company sell...

Working in the nail industry means I am constantly working on other peoples nails but I very rarely get the chance to work on my own nails, they say you should 'practice what you preach' but do any of us really have the time?! So I was excited to see two nail products in my package that I can use at home!

Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel*

Having problematic skin during winter means that my cuticles can become very dry and sore so this Nailtiques Cuticle & Skin Gel was a much needed product. Penetrating deep into the skin, this thick gel acts immediately and promotes the healing of cracked cuticles and rough skin. Perfect for keeping in your handbag, on your desk at work or beside your bed, maybe even all three, this is perfect for applying to cuticles, elbows, knees and any other dry patches of skin that need a little extra tlc! You only need a tiny bit of this gel for any one area as the product is so thick that a little goes a long way, I've had this on my desk at work all week and have been rubbing it into my cuticles, as well as the dry patches on my ankles and I have seen such a big difference already. They have both become so soft and I'm hoping that continuous use will eventually solve the problem, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Mavala Nail Colour in Velvet*

You all know that I just don't do nail polishes, I'm not a regular polish kind of girl, however, I am taking a break from Gelish at the moment, because I took them off at work and didn't get chance to put them back on, in the meantime my nails broke, split and cracked and by then it was just too late to apply Gelish without repairing them first. So this couldn't have come at a better time! I am using a nail strengthener on my nails daily and have been enjoying using this over the top to disguise the mess underneath. This polish applies so effortlessly, dries so quick and the colour is a gorgeous nude pink, perfect for everyday.

Redken Iron Shape 11*

Having thick hair that has a tendency to frizz and rarely holds a curl, this product immediately caught my eye! This thermal spray is very similar to a non-aerosol hairspray in that it's a liquid spray that gives hair a firm hold, whilst still leaving it soft and smooth. However this one has the added benefit of 'the exclusive Heat Guard Complex' which strengthens and protects the hair from heat styling tools too. I simply spray this onto dry hair one section at a time, prior to curling or straightening, I used this Saturday night and my curls were still in Monday evening when I washed them out, this is one product I will have to repurchase!

Amazing Cosmetics - Concealer* and Brush*

With waterproof technology and a highly pigmented formula, this concealer will help to achieve a perfected complexion. Dotted onto problem areas with this brush, which was specifically designed to work with the product, and then blended out for a natural looking finish, this works wonders for most skin problems, from blemishes to pigmentation. This is the only snippet of information I am going to leave you with on this post as this product deserves a post all to itself, coming soon...

There are so many amazing products online with The Hut Group, check out the websites I mentioned for yourself at and

Jouer Cheek and Lip Tint | Petal...

I've never fallen for the cream of the crops when it comes to the makeup world, everybody seems to love cream products come Spring/Summer but I've never really gotten the hype that surrounds them. I have simply never got on with them, be it a blusher or an eyeshadow, I despised them. I have on a whim, sometimes succumbed to the hype and bought them in the past, applied them with hope, blended them with frustration and lost them in the deep mountain that is my makeup collection, until now...

After collecting a few eyeshadows, post to come, and stumbling upon a blusher or two recently, I am starting to fall in love with the formulations of these wonders.

Jouer is an American brand created by the inspiring Christina Zilber, who created the brand 'to provide women with personalised beauty.' The brand try to focus on the essentials of your makeup bag, the products you use on a daily basis, and provide you with a clever interlock packaging with each of their products, allowing you to create your own essential 'beauty wardrobe'.

I started following Jouer on Instagram a while back and I find myself constantly falling in love with each and every one of their pictures, the products are so picture perfect, i'm a sucker for packaging and they really know how to set the scene. I have longed to get my hands on something from their collection for far too long, so when I made an order with Cult Beauty, I couldn't help throwing this Cheek and Lip Tint in the basket too.

Jouer Cheek and Lip Tint in petal is the perfect colour, it sits somewhere inbetween a peach and a coral and would bring out a gorgeous flush on most skin tones. Much to my delight, this tint blends effortlessly on the cheeks and lasts hours on end, making it the perfect companion for any occasion from work days to nights out and weddings upon weddings. If I have the time I'll apply this tint with my Real Techniques Expert face brush to my cheeks in order to create the perfect flush but this perfectly formulated cream tint blends just as well with fingers if your in a rush or on the go.

Have you tried any of Jouer's offerings yet?

This was originally a guest post I wrote for Monica's blog over at Mothloves back in June but I thought why not share it on here too!

Review | My Little Box...

I remember a while back searching for beauty boxes and coming across My Little Box, I instantly fell in love with the packaging and was pretty crushed when I found out that we couldn't subscribe to it here in England, it was one of those moments where I wished I Lived in France, just so I could subscribe to this box, though living in Paris is what dreams are made of! So you can only imagine my excitement when last month My Little Box did a little hop, skip and jump over the pond to the UK! I found out pretty late on in the month about their new diversification, however it took very little consideration before I decided to subscribe and my first little box was on its way...

For those of you who are not yet familiar with the concept My Little Box is a monthly subscription box costing £11 per month plus £3.95 p&p with not only beauty products but accessories too! Each box will include:

- Must-have beauty products (including one from
their own in-house beauty range, My Little Beauty)
- Fashion and lifestyle accessories
- Their magazine (My Little World)
- Illustrated goodies by Kanako
- And other surprises…

Finding out late resulted in me only receiving my box last week and I couldn't wait that long without having a sneak peek, so I already knew what I would be receiving and I have to say I was already in love with this box before it received it!

I love the style of this box, it has such a stereotypical Parisienne picture and theme, I love that everything is white, if you didn't know, I am obsessed with white, it looks so cute yet modern and I can't wait to put them to good use afterwards, I'm thinking decorative boxes on shelves or makeup storage.

I love this print so much, I'm thinking of framing it and putting it on my desk as a little pick-me-up/ inspirational kind of thing as it's the next destination on my travel list, who doesn't want to go to Paris?!

Being a complete stationary geek, I have so many unused notebooks, I was so happy to receive these pieces in my box, the 'my little carnet' which translates as 'my little notebook' features an insight into the company and then goes on to a blank paper, perfect for keeping on my desk for any mid-blogging ideas and/or doodles. I'm not entirely sure what I will do with the stickers yet but I'm sure I'll find a use for them soon!

'Geek is the new sexy' so of course there is a laptop cover, again I love the parisienne design, however it isn't an average sized laptop cover, I have heard people complain because it's too small for their laptop and too big for a tablet but I'm hoping it will fit my netbook, so I'm excited to try that out when it's fixed.

I was really happy with the beauty items I received this month, My Little Box work with some really good partners such as Benefit, By Terry, Estee Lauder, Glamglow and Keihls to name just a few and I love the bow print bag they come in!

I have tried a Nuxe oil before and I have to say I really love the smell of them, they have quite a strong, distinctive smell that lingers on the skin for hours so this handy 10ml size is perfect for keeping in your handbag on nights out if you don't have any mini perfumes, allowing you to touch up any dry areas of skin whilst keeping you smelling sweet.

I adore Laura Mercier products and I have always wanted to try one of their primers but have never actually got round to purchasing one so I loved that this month's box featured one. This sample is a generous 30ml so I should definitely know whether or not I want to repurchase this by the time I have finished it. So far, so good!

And then a little treat in the form of a Stylo Lumiere from My Little Box's very own beauty brand, My Little Beauty. This concealer pen is the perfect shade for brightening under eyes and the perfect size for taking along with you.

I love the concept of this box , that each month brings a different theme and the variety of gifts available,  I am seriously excited for the next one and it's due pretty soon, I'm not sure I can contain my excitement...

Will you be subscribing to My Little Box?

Review: Deborah Milano 24Ore Velvet Eye Shadows in 07 and 12...

Deborah Milano are a leading name in the Italian cosmetics and skin care market right now, created by the Deborah Group who's history dates back all the way to 1903 in Paris, read more here, the company are ever expanding and they are now branching across the pond to the UK market too!

'Through relentlessly monitoring trends, undertaking continuous laboratory research and employing ground breaking technology, Deborah Group has developed a mindboggling array of innovative, top-quality cosmetics and skin care with a proven ability to fully satisfy the beauty needs of all women. Fired by its unwavering passion, the company stands head and shoulders above its peers in enhancing beauty throughout the world. Deborah Group is a lifestyle and beauty brand that proudly bears the made-in-italy label.'

I was kindly sent these two 24Ore Velvet Eyeshadows in shades 07 and 12, there are 22 shades to choose from and I have to admit, it was hard to choose from such a gorgeous selection, however I chose these two colours as I felt these were the two colours that I would get the most use out of.

07 is a gorgeous chocolate brown, perfect when wet for a bold smoky eye or applied dry to gently contour the outer corner of an everyday look. 12 is a gorgeous pearlised pink, perfect for an all over wash of colour but can easily be layered up or applied wet for a more intense look, though it is pretty intense with just one swipe, your call!

The packaging of these is truly gorgeous, with 'slinky curves' and a clear lid, which allows you too see the 'rippled surface of the eyeshadow inside' complete with sponge tip applicator, it is simple but oh-so effective!

The formula of these eyeshadows is just amazing, they feel so silky soft and velvety, melting upon touch. With amazing pigmentation, the pearl particles reflect the light, showing you the 'true, deeply intense hues' making the colours appear quite bold when first applied and helping to achieve an opaque coverage. However the silky soft formula and silicone oils allow them to blend with such ease meaning that they can easily be blended down to achieve a softer colour if needs be.

With 'Special filmogenic (sheathing) polymers' the lasting power of these eyeshadows is outstanding, with or without a primer, these eyeshadows last all day long without any fallout, creasing or fading in sight.

Being Dermatologist and Opthalmologist tested, these eyeshadows are even suitable for the most sensitive eyes.

What's not to love?!

Throughout October there will be 50% off ALL Deborah Milano Eyeshadows, making these eyeshadows just £2.75! Will you be snapping them up while they are on offer?!
