Outfit of the Day | A New Camera Bag...

Top | Asos || Skirt | Primark || Sandals | New Look || Bag | Amazon

With the weather having suddenly dropped cold leaving a very autumnal feel to the air, I knew it was time to wave goodbye to my summer staple outfit! I have been wearing these two key pieces throughout the warmer month's both alone and together and have truly loved both pieces. This white midi skirt is the perfect item for summer, a cool, light, fabric that sits on my waist, accentuating my shape and goes with anything but I doubt it'll come back out till next year. However i'm hoping that I'll still be able to wear this gorgeous blush pink cropped top through A/W as it's been amazing so far, going with anything and everything from day to night. I'm thinking jeans, a chunky knit, scarf and boots for day, switched up with a black pleather jacket for evenings out. This time I teamed this outfit with my favourite tan sandals, my bargain Primark statement necklace and my believe it or not, curly hair, damn the wind, with a plait either side to just give it that pretty, summer, boho edge.

The bag featured is my new camera bag from amazon, I said I would buy one back in December when Dan bought me the camera for Christmas but I never got round to it, too much makeup to buy and all that jazz. However a couple of weeks ago I decided it was time that I bought one before the camera gets damaged and Dan said I told you so, but I didn't want just a regular camera bag because honestly, I think they're pretty ugly albeit practical, I wanted one that looked kinda stylish that could double up as a regular bag but that protects the camera too, I wasn't asking for much was i?! I found this one on amazon for just £11.99 with free delivery which I think was a complete bargain considering you pay this for a bog-standard one in Asda or Tesco. I love that it just looks like your every day satchel bag and therefore disguises the camera, it comes with two handles, this long clip on strap shown above, which I prefer, or the one that it comes attached with, a shorter strap which threads through two loops, pretty much the same as your camera strap attaches to your camera. I love the lining inside and the separator is velcro, therefore it can be moved inside the bag to adjust with the items you want to keep in there or you can take it out altogether. I keep my lens in the smaller side and the camera body in the larger side which seems to work perfectly for me.

Are you ready to say goodbye to summer?

Review: Roger & Gallet Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil...

Roger and Gallet are a brand that have always intrigued me! Their packaging is always so elegant, with this glass bottle being a classic example, complete with fig illustrations on the back and an octagonal lid, this is something I feel proud to display anywhere in my home. The brand's history dates back to 1693 and in 1862 the Roger & Gallet Perfumery was created, with the brand continuing to grow and expand to where it is today. So when the opportunity came along to try out their Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Body Oil thanks to the lovely Emma at Escentual, I couldn't have been more willing!

I love anything that makes a job quicker and easier, I'm lazy, plain and simple! So the Fleur De Figuier Ultra Nourishing Oil for body and hair from Roger and Gallet is right up my street! After I've had a bath or shower I spritz this all over my body and then spritz a few drops in the palm of my hands and run it through the ends of my freshly washed hair. This leaves my skin soft to the touch and smelling so good, the scent is just to amazing, it's one that you can't help but keep smelling and spritzing over and over, I would try to explain it but I wouldn't do it any justice, it's one you need to try for yourself!

I love that this oil isn't greasy, it's lightweight and it absorbs into the skin and hair with ease. I have always had a love for oils, my skincare drawers will happily agree, I feel like an oil nourishes your hair and body far better than any creams do, as your hair and body seem to drink up an oil a lot quicker. This one is made with 96% natural ingredients and is enriched in grape, pomegranate, black currant, apricot and sweet almond oils, helping dry skin to feel soothed and comforted.

Roger and Gallet offer a diagnosis tool on their website here to help you choose a fragrance that is best tailored to your needs.

At £25.50 this oil is a luxury item, however Escentual have 1/3 off all Roger & Gallet products throughout August so I would recommend snapping it up while it's on offer here.

Have your tried anything from Roger & Gallet? Will you be taking advantage of Escentual's offer?

Birchbox August : Away We Go : First Impressions...

I never really usually know what to do in terms of my Birchbox reviews, I want to show you what's in the current month's box so you can see the kind of things in them beforehand, if you fancy signing up yourself, but I usually want to tell you a little about each product too. However by the time I've got round to testing them, it's usually the end of the month and then it kind of defeats the object as it's too late for you to sign up by then. So.... I've decided, when I get my box every month, I will post up my pictures with a first impressions post within the first week of receiving it, so that you can see what's in it and then I will do a Birchbox favourites post or hit and miss post, I've not quite decided yet, to review the products in a little more detail.

Onto this month's box...

This month's Birchbox's theme is : Away We Go, designed for helping you on your next adventure, be it a fortnight abroad or a weekend away, the travel essentials are there to help tide you over until your return, with a travel bag to put them all in and a chapter of a book to keep you entertained on the way.

I actually really like this month's box, which was a nice surprise considering I haven't been the happiest with the two previous month's, due to a case of Birchbox jealousy! Here's what I got..

How cute is this little toiletries bag? This may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I think it's super cute and it's perfect for putting all your liquids in for the plane if your flying or keeping your daily essentials in your handbag.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect : ' A leave in conditioning spray to detangle and protect against heat and sun damage.' with how long and thick my hair is, I almost always end up in a fight with a brush after washing my hair and yep, I usually lose! So I'm always on the look out for a good detangling spray and this one by Number 4 looks perfect, smells amazing and is the perfect size to take away with me on trips away.

Wild About Beauty Creme Shadow in 03 Buster : 'A long-lasting, satin finish shadow from Louise Redknapp and Kim Jacob's PAraben-free range.' I've been lusting after WAB's collection for some time now, they have some gorgeous products, they are Paraben free and they don't test on animals, so I was very excited to see this eyeshadow in my box! Buster is a gorgeous bronze gold shimmery colour, perfect for an all over wash of color during the day or to add some depth to your smokey eye in the evening. I have only swatched this so far but the pigment is amazing and it blends into the skin so effortlessly, I love it already!

Nude ProGenius Omega Treatment Oil : 'This nourishing oil is rich in omegas 3,6,7 and 9 for hydrated, smooth skin.' I've heard such good things about NUDE so I was very impressed to see this product in my box. I love a good face oil and this one is designed to 'increase your skin's natural radiance' so it sounds pretty promising. It seems to sink into skin pretty well, the only downside is it smells very herbal and that does put me off a little but if it works, I'll stick with it.

Vasanti BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator : 'A Multi-action exfoliator to ensure a renewed, refreshed complexion.' I don't know much about the brand but I love the clean and clear packaging. The scrub smells quite nice and I like that it's really grainy, it looks and feels as though it would work really well at buffing away any dry areas, which is perfect for me as I always have pesky dry patches around my nose and lips. The grains appear to almost disintegrate as you scrub and it leaves your skin super soft. You only need a pea size amount each time, so the 20g is a pretty generous size and should last a month or more, depending on how many times you use it per week.

Supergoop! Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream : 'A natural shade-adjusting CC cream with SPF to smooth fine lines and even out skin tone.' I've never really been one for BB and CC creams but I'm happy to give this a go, on first glance this seems quite dark however it does adjust when blended. I have only tested this on my hand so I'm not sure how well it will blend on my face but a CC cream made with '100% natural ingredients' which protects your skin sounds pretty good to me.

Lifestyle Extra:

The Proposal by Tasmina Perry : 'Chapter one of this spellbinding and romantic novel, which spans 1950's London and present day NYC' I love a good book and a cup of tea so this book sounds perfect! This is far more intriguing to me than miso soup or breath freshener as we've had in previous boxes and I'm much more likely to buy the full version. I'm saving this one for my late night at work!

So after this month, I think I've fallen back in love with Birchbox and I can't wait to test the products out properly! Are you subscribed to Birchbox?

Review: Nougat Naturals Refining Body Scrub and Nourishing Hand Cream ...

Nougat London was established in 1990 as a fashion label and in 2000 they launched their Bath & Body range. 'Nougat Naturals is a fragrance, natural range of bath and body products blended with a complex base of essential oils and nourishing ingredients.' The company create amazing and luxurious products using 'only the finest ingredients' which are perfect for self-indulgence or, if your feeling nice, they make great gifts too. The company quote 'All the bath and body products are manufactured in England ensuring we use traditional manufacturing techniques and maintain the high quality our customers have come to expect from us. Each formulation is researched and developed to combine traditional and contemporary natural remedies for the ultimate experience.'

Never have I been so excited by the aroma of a package, as I became when I opened my package from Nougat Naturals. When I opened this box my mood instantly uplifted as I inhaled the scent of the essential oils from both products. Being a qualified aromatherapist, with a mother who qualified long before me, the scent of aromatherapy oils is a very familiar one and its a lovely familiarity that has the power to instantly change my mood. I was very lucky to be sent two amazing products from Nougat Naturals, here I have two gorgeous products that can ease you into two completely opposite frames of mind.

Infused with grapefruit, lemon myrtle, may chang, bergamot and ginger essential oils, this exfoliating body scrub is the perfect morning pick-me-up! With 'exfoliating particles of olive seed' and 'an organic compound  derived from coconut oil' this shower scrub gently buffs away dead skin whilst leaving your skin silky smooth to the touch. Although the scrub looks harsh with plenty of rough looking particles, it actually feels amazing on the skin, rough enough to feel like it's working but gentle enough to leave your skin undetectable. I find this is best worked in with your hands rather than any tools as it allows you to really work this into your skin, focusing on dry areas such as knees and elbows. The scent of this is fabulous in a morning when I haven't had much sleep the night before as it really lifts and lightens my mood, I've even found this works to just have a quick smell when I'm feeling tired or ill during the day to give my mood an instant lift, strange but true

Encaptured in the essential oils of Rose Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Sandalwood and Chamomile this hand cream is a dream to apply, the kind of hand cream that you want to apply over and over again. The kind you want a tube to put in your handbag, a tube to put in your drawer at work and another to put beside your bed so you always have it to hand. This rich and luxurious hand cream nourishes and repairs dry and damaged skin whilst calming and relaxing you, perfect for a quick fix when life's stresses get in the way.

Both products are free from: Parabens, Sulphates, Petrochemicals, Glycol, PEGs and Colour. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Nougat Natural's products are not tested on animals.

Reader Offer:

Nougat London have been so kind to offer you lovely lot 20% off throughout the month of August across all the toiletries products on their website using the code B3UTY20 at the checkout. This code will expire at the end of August and is valid for one use per customer.

Have you tried any of the Nougat London range? Will you be using the offer to try any out?

July Favourites...

Throughout the month of July I discovered and fell in love with so many new products, I decided to treat myself to a few new high end purchases and fewer high street buys rather than just buying the whole high street per se! I have a mixture of makeup and skincare to share with you this month...

After a long drawn resistance to The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil I finally caved into buying this skin softening cleanser and boy, am I glad I did! This removes make-up like a dream, whilst leaving your skin feeling silky soft and smelling good too. I like to use this one in my evening skincare routine as the scent soothes and calms me, leaving me relaxed and ready for bed. If I feel that my skin needs an extra pinch of radiance during my evening routine, I will also use the Mademoiselle Gabrielle Sublime Oil Serum which is the perfect skin pick-me-up! This nourishing oil reduces inflammation, softens skin and leaves you looking and smelling like you've just stepped out of a spa, perfect for pamper evenings!

A good base is a must for summer make-up and I have been vowing to treat myself to Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup for so long! This foundation is everything you need and more...medium to full buildable coverage, with a wide range range of colours to suit all skin tones and it stays put all day long. This is without a doubt the best foundation I have tried and I know I can always rely on it!

My eyes are my favourite feature to play up! I love all eye products from primers to liners, if I can use them to accentuate my eyes I'll buy them! After hearing and seeing such good results from Benefit's They're Real Push-Up Liner, it wasn't long before I headed out to see what all the fuss was about myself. This long-lasting jet black liner has become a staple in my everyday make-up routine, I literally don't think there is a day that I haven't applied this to my lids and I just hope it doesn't run out too soon! With an easy to use pen-style body and lash-hugging technology, this liner applies like a dream, though I am still yet to master the wing! It's jet black appearance really brings out your eyes and it lasts all day! I can see this being an expensive new staple!

Keeping with the eyes theme, did you see my post on Bourjois's latest mascara here? In summary, the Bourjois Volume One Seconde Mascara is life changing! Well, maybe that's a little dramatic... but it is by far the best mascara I have come across in a long time! This little beauty creates lengthy heights and big fat volume in a little over a second. Speedy, long-lasting and with little to no fallout, if you haven't tried it yet, I urge you to do so!

What have you been loving lately? Have you tried any of these?

Mademoiselle Gabrielle Skincare: Review...

When I entered Purenesse's competition on Twitter to be in with the chance of winning a skincare set from Mademoiselle Gabrielle I honestly didn't think I had a chance, I don't tend to win things, but when they contacted me to say I had won, I was so excited beyond belief! I have to admit I had never heard of the brand until entering the competition but as soon as I saw the packaging, it was love at first sight!

Mademoiselle Gabrielle is the French natural and certified organic company of Sylvie Moreau. Sylvie has created an anti-ageing skincare line with a 'range of high level, innovative products to guide and assist women in their daily beauty routine.' The products are designed to repair and restore the skin
whilst fighting the signs of ageing. This natural and organic-certified company also take the environment into consideration when creating their products! What's not to love?!

All of the products in the range have such a luxury feel to them, from the bows on the outside of the packaging to the scent of the product inside, with the companies philosophy being 'luxury is in nature' I think it all fits in pretty perfectly!

Gentle Exfoliating Mask £19.75*

The Facts:

'This Gentle Exfoliating Mask is a 2-in-1 treatment: when used as an exfoliator, the papaya fruit extract and betaine salicylate, with pore cleaning and exfoliating properties, gently remove dead skin cells and help keep spots at bay; when used as a mask, the sunflower oil, vitamin E, and aloe vera encourage skin regeneration.'

Key ingredients and benefits:
  • Sunflower oil: Nourishing
  • Aloe vera: Hydrates and soothes the skin
  • Betaine salicylate: combination of salicylic acid and betaine has exfoliating and pore cleaning properties
  • Papaya fruit extract: exfoliating properties, improves the tone and texture of skin
  • Vitamin E: Antioxidant, protects and repairs the skin
100% of the ingredients have a natural origin; 80% are from organic farming'

This mask is like no other mask I've tried before, it's unique texture and appearance is what sets it apart from the rest! Usually masks resemble a thick moisturiser, however this mask is a gorgeous thick, gold shimmery liquid which can be used as both an exfoliator and a face mask. I have been loving using this lately, especially on a Sunday evening when I have my pamper night, the heat it gives off whilst on is quite relaxing and adds to the whole pampering. I simply apply a thin layer all over my face, avoiding the delicate eye area, leave to work for a few minutes (5 mins recommended) or around 20 minutes if I'm multitasking, I'm a woman of many talents you know! Then I massage in with wet fingers, rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel. This leaves my skin smelling amazing and feeling so smooth, the kind of smooth you get when you've used a sugar scrub all over your body and your skin feels silky soft. I recommend using this once or twice a week to keep dry and flaky skin at bay, this is one to check out for sure!

Sublime Oil Serum £23.04*

'A beautiful blend of oils and seaweed extract, this oil serum instantly absorbs and works on all fronts: Rosa Canina and Buriti oils restructure and regenerate the epidermis, and the seaweed extract firms and tones. Baobab, rich in precious Omega 3, 6 & 9, helps repair, hydrate, and renew and the antioxidant properties of Milk Thistle, and Avocado oils fight free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. With a natural yet comforting fragrance, this addictive, sublime, oil serum works to hydrate and soothe dull and dry skin, promoting a luminous, dewy, and radiant glow whilst helping to prevent skin ageing.'

Key ingredients and benefits:
  • Milk Thistle oil: Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties
  • Avocado oil: Antioxidant properties
  • Sunflower oil: Nourishing
  • Rosa Canina oil: Anti-ageing, repairing
  • Baobab oil: Moisturising
  • Buriti oil: Anti-ageing, repairing
  • Seaweed: softening, protects skin from free radical damage, and improves its elasticity
100% of the ingredients have a natural origin; 95% are from organic farming'

I think I have a slight addiction to facial oils and serums, they have to be one of my favourite products within skincare. There is just something so luxurious about them and this one is no exception, the scent of the Sublime Oil Serum just reminds me of that moment when you step inside a spa treatment room, the smell of the essential oils within the products washes over you and you feel your whole body instantly relax. This nourishing oil absorbs into the skin quickly yet leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth with such a radiant glow that you could be mistaken for having just had a luxury facial. The ingredients in this oil have so many benefits for your skin, from the anti-inflammatory properties of milk thistle oil to the anti-ageing properties of Rosa Canina oil and Buriti oil. This is perfect for all skin types and has worked wonders for mine so far!

Age-defying Light Moisturiser £26.34*

'Fight back ageing and achieve smoother, radiant, more youthful-looking skin with this light moisturising cream. The unique formulation of this cream, especially designed for normal to combination skins, will give noticeable results which improve over time. Full of powerhouse actives, it helps delay skin ageing and helps the skin regain its balance for a smoother and more radiant complexion.'

Key ingredients and benefits:
  • Hyaluronic acid: Hydrates and restores skin elasticity
  • Aloe vera: Hydrates and soothes the skin
  • Pracaxi seed oil: Anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties
  • Corn starch: Balances sebum secretion and prevents the appearance of spots
  • Algae extract: Moisturising properties
  • Vitamin E: Antioxidant, protects and repairs the skin
99.02% of the ingredients have a natural origin; 74.82% are from organic farming

This was the moisturiser that best suited my skin out of the two, this light moisturiser is perfect for day and night and is suitable for 'normal and mixed skins.' I found that this was light and gentle on my skin and it absorbs quickly, meaning there are no excuses for not applying this in the morning. I apply this on cleansed skin, massaging in upward circular motions and allow to sink in before applying my makeup.

Age-defying Rich Moisturiser £26.34*

'An intense moisturising treatment enriched with Chlorella and Samphire that improves the skin's firmness and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and lines over time.
Rich in antioxidants, Aloe vera, and Hyaluronic acid, this results-oriented formula restores, purifies, and guards against dryness, dullness, redness, and ageing.'

Key ingredients and benefits:
  • Chlorella: prevents the breakdown of skin's collagen and elasticity, generates the production of more collagen
  • Samphire: repairs the skin, prevents ageing
  • Hyaluronic acid: Hydrates and restores skin elasticity
  • Aloe vera: Hydrates and soothes the skin
  • Baobab oil: Moisturising
  • Cocoa seed butter: Antioxidant properties
99% of the ingredients have a natural origin; 75.76% are from organic farming

My skin tends to be extremely dry in winter, however it changes to combination in summer, So I have to change my skincare products accordingly. I actually found that when using this moisturiser every morning and evening on my face that it was a little too rich, I came out in extremely painful spots and after realising it wasn't just a purging phase, I decided to stick to the light moisturiser for both day and night. I think this will be perfect for my skin come winter when my skin becomes extremely dehydrated to due to the cold. It would also most likely suit more mature skin, as it becomes dehydrated quicker, I still love the product so I will try this again in the Autumn and Winter and review this product again.

I am completely head over heels for the Mademoiselle Gabrielle skincare range and I hope they extend their range very soon! They look amazing, smell amazing and leave your skin looking and feeling amazing too!

Don't forget to check out Purenesse's website they are 'an innovative online store offering the highest quality of natural and organic personal care products.' Only selling products that are free from toxins and all the other unnecessary ingredients which are organic, where possible, and disclosing the full ingredient list for each product, I would consider them a pretty trustworthy site.

Have you tried any of the products mentioned?

Outfit of the day | Vintage Style Playsuit

Playsuit | Oasis || Sandals | New Look £14.50 Sale || Bag | Primark

How nice has the weather been recently? I'm hoping it stays this way whilst I'm off work for the week, so I can catch some rays whilst catching up on my blogging. I'm in desperate need of a tan and I have a ton of things to write about! Fingers crossed I'm as productive as I plan to be! Please excuse the facial expressions as the sun was pretty much blinding me throughout! The wind was high too, so me and Dan, the other half, or the better half as he likes to call himself, took so many pictures on Sunday, yep, he's my photographer, the wind was blowing my hair all over, the sun was blinding me and I wasn't in the best of moods, you should see the out takes!
I adore this playsuit, especially because of the vintage style it has to it. This is the only playsuit that I've come across that isn't tall but fits me comfortably without being too short, sometimes being tall isn't all it's cracked up to be! The capped sleeves and wrap over top are what I think gives the vintage feel to this playsuit, but the print keeps it up-to-date. I love the tie waist, anything that goes in at the waist and out at the hips, seems to flatter my shape the most, so I try to stick with what I know. I teamed this with my New Look sale bargain sandals, I had already seen these on a few people and loved them, then my sister bought them and I was a little more tempted but when I came across the last pair in my size at just £14.50, whilst browsing on my lunch last week, I couldn't leave them! I always love tan sandals, as they pretty much match anything, these are pretty comfy, as long as you don't fasten them too tight, yep, made that mistake, and I have barely taken them off yet! I did take a picture up close but my six week old pedicure let it down, my apologies, I'm sure they'll feature again very soon! This outfit looked lovely at first with my beach wave hair, thanks to my Charles Worthington Sea Salt spray, but high winds and all that jazz meant it just looked un-brushed by the time we took the photographs!
I've been so used to the sun recently that I'm a little worried about what I'll do come Autumn/Winter for lighting?! Suggestions please?!

Do you wear playsuits? Or are you a tad too tall like me?
