Birchbox - February '14

Although I love receiving a new beauty box every month full of exciting surprises, I am never usually happy with all of the products. However last month's Birchbox has to be the most exciting box I have ever received! I have actually loved each and every single product within my box and they were all perfect to take on my mini break to Chester!

The lovely Zoe from Zoe Lou and the beauty blog even had her Instagram picture feature on the cards! How amazing?! I have to admit i'm slightly jealous! You can follow Zoe on instagram here.

I first tried Urban Veda products when I received the turmeric + Balance facial wash in my Glossybox some time last year and the first thing I noticed about the product was the scent. With botanical extracts of liquorice, papaya and goji berry mixed with bio-oils of orange, patchouli, coriander, cedar and marigold with glycerine, pumice, turmeric and arjuna thrown in, you can imagine how amazing it smells! The beads in this product are rough enough to remove dead skin cells but gentle enough to refrain from damaging the skin. I have been using this twice a week, to keep my skin free from flakes and so far I am loving it.

Who doesn't love a miniature chocolate bar? Although I'm not a big fan of finding produce in my beauty boxes, I'm a big fan of Green and Black's, so to see one of their bar's in my box quite excited me, sad I know, but I'm a self-confessed chocoholic, it's my favourite kind of bonus product.

The smell of this oil alone sold it to me! It has a sugary sweet scent that makes you want to reapply it constantly and is the type of oil that leaves your hair silky rather than greasy, which I Love! I apply a small amount if this to my damp hair from around half way down after washing, so that the oil protects my hair from the heat of my hair dryer. If I'm then styling my hair i'll add a tiny amount to the ends before styling to protect it from any heat damage from straighteners and curlers etc. I've only used this a few times so far, but I'm already hooked.

My mum introduced me to Leighton Denny nail polishes in my teens and I always loved the bottles and the range of colours, but most of all how they lasted so long even though I didn't take care of them. As you probably know I don't tend to use normal nail polishes as I have Gelish on my nails constantly. However I was still excited to see this in my box and I will probably include it in some sort of a giveaway when I reach 100 followers on either GFC or Bloglovin, which could be a while yet but I'm willing to give it a good try.

My first thoughts were 'how cute is this bottle' There's just something about the packaging that can easily sway my opinion about a product and I really like this one. I love that the scent is refreshing yet quite subtle, I've also already used this shower gel 4 times and I have half a bottle left, so I think it's fair to say a little goes a long way with this product! If it wasn't for the price, I would consider buying it, however I think it's a little steep when you can get a perfectly good shower gel from Asda for a £1, maybe if it's on offer someday I will consider it..

I actually received this same eyeliner in Glamour magazine last year and I loved it! I wear liquid eyeliner on a daily basis, my eyes feel naked without it and any eyeliner with a thin nib like this one that makes it easier for me to apply gets the thumbs up from me, especially being as though i have to apply eyeliner at 6.45am in a morning, I'm practically doing my makeup whilst sleeping! The only problem was that it ran out, so another one was welcomed with open arms/hands/fingers.

Overall I was extremely impressed with last month's box and this month's box can't come quick enough!

Now that Birchbox have pushed the bar up this high, I hope they keep it up...

Are you subscribed to Birchbox? What did you think of February's box?

Love
