Baker Days Letterbox Cake Review + Giveaway...

Baker Days are an innovative company who have developed 'a truly versatile colour and decorating process' which allows you to personalise their printed designs for your friends and family whilst making the cake 'actually taste just as if you made them yourself.' From smaller letter box cakes to larger cakes, a variety of flavours, designs and tailored to suit your dietary requirements, these are the perfect gift for your loved ones, especially for Christmas!

I was kindly offered a letterbox cake (5 inch) in a Christmas design of my choice, I chose the Reindeer Collage Cake and chose the Gluten free option. I have to admit, I wasn't sure what a letterbox cake would be like, the obvious thoughts crossed my mind, would it be dry? would it get ruined in the packaging when posted?  how small did it have to be to fit through a letterbox? Luckily, I needn't have worried! The cake comes in a gorgeous tin so it is well protected and is a great size, although stated as 3-4 portions, I think you could get more as those 4 portions are quite big so the sizing is generous for a 'smaller' cake.

Thinking of ordering one for someone specialOrder before 2pm 19th December to guarantee delivery for Christmas!

The lovely people over at Baker Days are giving one of you the chance to win your own letterbox cake, simply enter the Rafflecopter below...

  • The first three entries are mandatory,
  • This is a UK only giveaway,
  • The winner will be chosen at random by rafflecopter and the winner will contacted by email after all entries are checked.

Review | My Little Cosy Box...

My Little Box, in my opinion, is the best subscription box to have reached the UK, albeit not so long ago! This little box fills me with such happiness each and every month and when I get that text from my Mum to say my box has arrived, it makes that long day at work a little more bearable, sad, but true! I love the variety of products in this subscription box and I get just as excited about the lifestyle extras as I do about the beauty products, I can always guarantee there will be something I love and so far I've loved it all!

Once again My Little Box succeeded in creating yet another awesome themed month for November and it was certainly a 'cosy' one! Focusing on brightening up these cold, dark and rainy days, the box featured a variety of products from waterproof makeup to a microwavable beanbag, they covered all aspects to make for a very 'Cosy November.'

The prints are the first thing in the box and they always get me excited, each one is so meaningful and something you can relate to, perfect for framing, I think every MLB subscriber's office/house will be full of these prints in no time!

The lifestyle pieces were my favourite items this month, who doesn't want a miniature mug to make tea breaks more chic, especially when it says 'how is your day gunna be?' on the side and at the bottom of the mug it says 'happy' could it be any sweeter?! The microwavable bean bag has been a life saver just lately, my stomach has been giving me a lot of hassle so I love heating it up at night and using it to keep me warm in bed whilst helping to ease the pains.

I was really impressed with this month's beauty items, which focus on a seasonally appropriate smokey eye. I don't think I have tried anything from Yves Rocher before but I have heard good things so I am excited to give this eyeshadow in 112 Brun Cafe Mate (£13.20) a whirl, a gorgeous deep brown that looks perfect for contouring the outer crease, I can see this being promoted to 'the everyday makeup bag' very quickly. The Star Liner by Arcancil Paris (£5.50) another brand that I am unfamiliar with, and I call myself a beauty blogger?! is actually pretty good, a soft kohl pencil that is highly pigmented and once applied, stays put, it already has a thumbs up from me! This month's product from MLB's own beauty brand My Little Beauty is a mascara, now it's not my favourite product from the brand but it's ok to use as a backup, just don't cry with it on, it stings like hell!

Have you subscribed to My Little Box yet? What are your thoughts so far?

Review | Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan...

During the colder months, I think we all get a touch of the the winter blues, with dark, cold, rainy nights, it's normal to feel a little under the weather, not to mention a little less confident with all those baggy jumpers, they sure don't flatter me and my pale skin, if like me your not lucky enough to have been on holiday recently. So when my friends text me on a Saturday afternoon or evening asking if I want to come out for a few drinks, my first thought is always what the hell am I going to wear? I'm always far too pale to wear a skirt or dress and then I usually decline the offer or go out sulking because I'm pale! So when the opportunity arose to test out a product from the Cocoa Brown Tan range, I knew immediately that the 1 hour tan would be perfect for me.

The Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan aims to give you 'beautifully bronzed, radiant skin in just 1 hour' with the product continually developing, meaning that you can leave it on for 1 hour for a light glow, 2 hours for a medium glow or 3 hours for a deep glow and the product still continues to develop after being rinsed off, aiming to last 5-7 days. With a vegetable derived tanning agent and preservative, this product does not contain any parabens and is very gentle on skin, even sensitive skin, therefore this product is suitable for both the body and the face.

I have to be honest and say I don't fake tan all that often, I'm far too lazy and I just don't go out all that much but the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan has really changed my views on getting bronzed up! What I love the most about this product is how easy it makes a night out, not only is the product so easy to apply, but it also allows me to tan after working all day on a Saturday and I still have time to wash it off before I go out, anything that makes my life simpler gets a thumbs up from me!

I fell in love with the formulation of this product straight away, the mousse is so smooth and so easy to apply, I simply squirt it into the glove and massage the product into the skin in circular motions. It doesn't streak at all and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the product fades so evenly without any tell-tale patches in sight, it was nice not to dread the flaky, patchy skin that follows the fading of any other tan, its not a look I aim for! The only claim I have to disagree with on this tan, is that it doesn't smell like fake tan, I feel a lot of company's try their best to make their tan smell better but after all it is still fake tan and I still have yet to come across any that doesn't even smell a little like it's true form.

I like to exfoliate any dry patches thoroughly the night before tanning to avoid the tan sticking to these patches and therefore drawing attention to that area. After having a shower I simply apply this all over and allow to dry whilst I do my hair and makeup, then I rinse off after my desired time and moisturise. I usually keep the tan on for 3 hours to gain a nice deep tan, however I have fallen asleep with it on, on more than one occasion and have found that the products still works perfectly.

I could not recommend this product enough and I cannot wait to try more from the range, have you tried the Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan yet?

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Fallen From The Lipstick Tree Mini Lipstick Charms | Always Check The Size...

I think every girl should have a little bit of Charlotte Tilbury in their life, the packaging, the smell and the feel of the products is just so luxurious and would make any girl feel special! For me, Christmas is a time to treat your loved ones to those special presents that they wouldn't justify treating themselves to, so when I saw this mini lipstick trio from Charlotte Tilbury, I knew they would be the perfect gift to make someone smile this Christmas. With three different shades from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick range in So Marilyn, Bitch Perfect and Penelope Pink these were too hard to resist and I decided to order Dan's mum a set as she was swooning over my first CT order and Dan very kindly decided to treat me to a set too, so as soon as I saw them up on the website, I added two to my basket and proceeded straight to the check out before I changed my mind.

As usual the box got me so excited, with the burgundy tissue paper and the gold sticker, it took me around 30 seconds to find the products lurking inside but what did really surprise me, was when I got to the actual product. Now I know that these are mini lipsticks and by no means did I expect them to be big, however I didn't realise just how small these would be. I guess I at least expected them to be the size of my thumb, however they are just under 4cm in height and just over 1cm wide with the amount of product being a little under 2cm tall and a little under 1cm wide, so they are very tiny. Luckily they are gorgeous lipsticks but I wish I had actually read the description first and done my research before I made a decision, as I don't feel they look a lot for the money when buying them as a Christmas present for someone who doesn't know the brand and quality of the products upfront.

Despite me thinking these should be described as tiny and not mini, I do love the lipsticks and think that they are an amazing idea, if only a little bigger, the K.I.S.S.I,N.G lipstick formula is pretty amazing, see my review here and I can't wait till Christmas when I can pop them in my handbags ready for the celebrations, I just hope I don't lose them!

Have you ordered these yet? Will you be?

Review | Vichy DermaBlend Setting Powder...

The Vichy Dermablend range is a popular range among beauty bloggers, makeup artists and even dermatologists, with the range being well known for helping to cover scars, imperfections and even tattoos. Although this setting powder has been 'specifically formulated for use with the Dermablend corrective foundation' I have found that the foundation doesn't work well for my skin and therefore I do not use them together. I was however, pleasantly surprised to find that the setting powder does in fact work wonders for my skin and with any of the foundations I use on a daily basis.

With a universal shade, this translucent setting powder adds no colour to your skin, meaning that this doesn't affect the colour of your foundation, like so many other setting powders do and leaves a natural looking finish that is perfect for all skin tones! This powder evens out your complexion and balances any oils on the face. leaving you with a flawless matte finish that is super smooth and doesn't crease or settle into fine lines. The thing I love most about this setting powder is that it's so finely milled, that it feels lightweight on the skin, is invisible upon application and doesn't cake, even if you touch it up throughout the day!

The staying power is said to last 'up to sixteen hours' but personally I never wear my makeup for this long, however I do find that once set, the powder stays in place from the second I put it on until the moment I take it off, which to me is pretty amazing!

This can be applied with the powder puff provided, however I prefer to use a powder brush for an all over application, I simply tap the powder into the lid, dab the brush into the powder and tap off any excess before sweeping over my whole face, don't worry though, a little goes a long way with this one!

And for those of you that are a little more wary of what's in your products, this setting powder is fragrance free, paraben free, non-comodogenic, non-acnegenic, contains an SPF30 and is suitable for sensitive skin, what's not to love?!

Have you tried any of the Vichy Dermablend Range yet?

Debenhams Gift Guide | For Him £20 and under...

Debenhams gift guide for him £20 and under

I don't know about you, but I find it so hard to buy for men, I get tired of buying them the same things and let's face it, they will never get excited over anything, like a girl gets excited over a lipstick! After sharing my picks from the Debenhams Christmas section 'for her' last week, I thought I would also pick out a few of the things in the 'for him' section, to help those of you, who like me, have no idea what to buy for the men in your life...

My fella lives in his loungewear bottoms, so I usually buy him a new pair for every occasion.  I love checked pj's on a man and these ones by red herring are perfect, if your looking for a more Christmas themed pair however, the navy polar bear ones by Mantaray are cute yet stylish.

For those men who travel a lot, the 'plug n heat car mug' will make a great travel companion, as will these winter hats, which are always a great gift for men, they're practical yet stylish and every man needs one. This fairisle reindeer bobble hat is the perfect novelty hat, yet is still really stylish, however if your looking for something a little different, this grey beanie has built in headphones, great for those winter walks. In today's world, everyone spends their life sitting, standing and walking around playing on their phones, sad, but true, so these touch screen gloves by Mantaray are also handy, excuse the pun, for any man during the cold winter months.

Every man wants his own 'man room' and no man room would be complete without a stag head, this build your own stag head would be perfect for him to build his own. Keeping with the man room' theme, what man doesn't like a good drinking game? I know the majority of the men in my family do, so drinking games are always a hit with them! Darts with a difference, this darts game has a drink related commandment for each section hit, perfecly suited to any 'man's room'. An increasingly popular game amongst men recently, beer pong is the ultimate drinking game, if the man in your life hasn't played it yet, why not introduce him to it?

Well, I hope this has helped you a little

October Favourites...

Last month flew by so quickly that somehow I forgot to do a monthly favourites post! I'm not quite sure how, as it has to be one of my favourite posts to write! Looking back on each month and sharing my latest finds and old favourites is always so much fun and this month I had so many items that I could have included in this post! Luckily I managed to cut it down to my top five before this post had the chance to become endless!

Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder: The Vichy Dermablend range is such a popular range, with so many good reviews and this Setting Powder is one I had already heard plenty about. When I finally got the chance to try it out for myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find out just how good this wonder product is! A translucent powder, just how I like it, that leaves a smudge proof base with a flawless finish thst lasts all day, now this is my kind of powder!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm: Which beauty blogger doesn't own the oh so famous Nuxe Reve de Miel? This leaves lips feeling so soft and smooth whilst leaving them with a hint of its divine chocolate orange scent. It makes the perfect overnight treatment for dull, dry and cracked lips and is great for keeping them hydrated throughout the day.

My Little Beauty Micellar Water: I've tried my fair share of micellar waters but this one comes out on top for me! It removes makeup quickly and efficiently whilst leaving skin soft and smooth to touch, not to mention how retro it looks on your shelf.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer: Slightly on the pricier side of primers, this one from Laura Mercier really seems to love my skin. It somehow manages to balance out my combination skin, reducing pores and blending out my imperfections whilst allowing the majority of foundations to stay put on my face all day long. Now that's a wonder product!

Illamasqua Brow Gel in Strike: A very similar product to the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade, with a more cream to powder finish is this Illamasqua Brow Gel in Strike. I love that this one allows you to achieve both a subtle day time look when used straight from the pot but also allows you to create a more striking look when used wet for evenings. I find this such a versatile product and would say that it is definitely worth the pennies!

What have you been loving throughout the last month?

Debenhams Gift Guide | For her £20 and under...

I don't know if this post is a little too early but I already have Christmas on the brain so I thought I'd try and rub off on you too! The Debenhams gift guide really caught my eye this year, I love that Debenhams sell a variety of products, from clothes to makeup and even homeware, so there's something for everyone! I've decided to swap my Wishlist Wednesday post for Christmas Gift guides, because let's face it, Christmas will be here before we know it! Me and Dan will hopefully be moving into our house next month and we only have two paychecks left until Christmas, now that's scary! so it's going to be pretty costly to say the least, with that in mind I have tried to aim for lower priced items, kicking the series off with £20 and under options. I hope you like it...

Im hoping these little picks help you out with your Christmas shopping!

Next week I'll focus on the male species...

My Little Box and Diane Von Furstenberg Collaberation...

Just two weeks ago I received my first My Little Box and I was so happy with it that I decided to carry on my subscription, you can see my post here. Because I subscribed to last month's box late, it meant that I received this one very quickly after, if only they did a fortnightly box!

This month's box is a collaboration with the lovely Diane Von Furstenberg! If you don't know who she is, where have you been? Just kidding, I wasn't entirely sure myself! So I decided to do a little research! Diane was once a real life Princess, married to the Prince of Furstenberg she gained her title, however following their divorce in 1972, although she lost the title, she decided to keep the family name. In 1997 Diane re-launched her fashion company and re-introduced her famous wrap dress that is so iconic today. With Diane's company now being a global luxury lifestyle brand with 85 stores worldwide, she is listed as the 68th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes. Wow what a woman, eh?!

'Be the Woman you want to be!'

I absolutely adore these printed cards that come in each box and as I said in my last post, I plan to frame these and put them in my office, I'm thinking of doing a feature wall with all of the prints, as so far they are pretty inspirational and will certainly pick me up on a rainy day!

The Lifestyle products...

My Little Box include their own magazine each month called My Little World which focuses on the theme with a few added extras. This month's focuses on Diane von Furstenberg's style and features interviews with the Belgian actress Hande Kodja, Diane's niece and Diane herself, as well as a makeup tutorial and some delicious recipes. Yep, they cover all bases!

I love a good scarf, especially a statement one, they can completely transform an outfit and you will hardly ever find me without one wrapped around my neck, so I was excited to see this one in a DVF print! There was also 'a kiss from Diane' Lip Brooch which 'effortlessly embodies the confidence and joie de vivre of Diane von Furstenberg.' I think this will jazz up a coat or bag and is a nice little touch to the box as it gives a personalised edge.

The beauty products...

Again I was happy with this months beauty products, although not as exciting as last months, I don't know if they'll ever top that one, these are all products that I do and will use! They came in the little cream bag but this time instead of the little bow logo printed all over, this bag has a DVF logo on the front, can I now claim I have a designer bag?

I adore L'occitane handcreams, so much so, that I have one in each of my most used bags! These hand creams always smell so good and this Vanilla Bouquet Hand Cream is no exception. I love how they sink into skin so effortlessly, leaving skin so soft, without any greasiness that other handcreams often leave. This one may just have to replace the one under my desk at work.

I've never tried anything from the Keratase Couture Styling range so this Hairspray really intrigued me, the mini size makes it perfect to fit in my handbag for day or a clutch at night. It promises to offer 24 hour hold anti-humidity shield with anti-frizz protection and it smells pretty good too!

I've tried a fair few micellar waters since the hype took over the bloggersphere, so I was extremely excited to see this My Little Beauty Micellar Water in this month's box. With Aloe Vera and orange extract, this leaves skin feeling so soft and smooth. I've only used it a handful of times but I'm already in love!

I can't wait to see what they have in store for next month!

Have you subscribed yet?

L'oreal Paris Mini Haul and Review...

L'oreal Paris True Match Foundation £9.99 | L'oreal Paris True Match Powder £18.19 | L'oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds £6.99

When I popped into Boots for a face powder the other day, the last edges of my Maybelline Matte Maker had finally crumbled, I didn't quite get what I went in for, you know the drill, we all do it, that little 3 for 2 offer caught my eye and before I knew it my basket was full. Now L'oreal can seriously do no wrong in my eyes, I don't think I have ever bought a product from them that I didn't like, so when I realised that Boots didn't have any of my favourite powders in my colour, I decided to try one from the L'oreal True Match range and of course it wouldn't have been worth trying out if I didn't try out the famous True Match foundation from them too, then before I knew it a lipstick in Blake's red just fell in alongside them, among a basket full of other products too!

True Match Foundation

Although I love my Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation, I don't like to wear it on a daily basis because not only is it an expensive foundation to keep replacing but it's also quite a thick foundation, which doesn't suit my skin when used on a constant basis. I prefer a lighter foundation for everyday and I have been loving using the True Match foundation. What surprises me the most about this foundation is that it provides a fair amount of coverage to say how lightweight the formula is, I would say that the coverage is medium but buildable and leaves you with a dewy finish. The lasting power is quite average, giving a good 5-6 hours of good coverage before it starts to fade.

True Match Powder

I'm not a dewy foundation kind of girl, I always prefer to powder over the top of my base to give a more matte finish. As I mentioned before, I bought this powder as Boots didn't have the others I went in for in my colour, but I was more than happy to try it out as it had been on my list for a while already. I like that this powder doesn't add too much colour to your face, I went for the same colour that I had matched myself to in the foundation, however I think I could have gone a colour or two lighter, I keep forgetting we're in Autumn already! This powder sets nicely without settling into any fine lines or creases and it really helps to keep my foundation on for that little bit longer!

Color Riche Exclusive Red in Blake's Red

Before I went blonde I could never wear red lipstick, I'm not sure why, maybe it was a confidence thing, but I just couldn't bring myself to wear it in public. Then when I went blonde, I fell in love with red lips and I haven't looked back since. I have to admit, I didn't need another red lipstick, I have so many already but I love the Color Riche exclusive lipsticks and they just looked too good to miss out on! Blake's red is a gorgeous red with a slight berry tone to it and I was seriously impressed with the staying power! I wore this to Frankie and Benny's last weekend and both Danny and his mum asked if I had used some sort of sealer because a pizza and a glass of wine later, the lipstick was still perfectly in place!

Have you bought anything from L'oreal lately?

Wishlist Wednesday | Matalan Home Edit...

Im sure you all know by now, but if you don't, I am currently waiting on a completion date for mine and Dans first home, which means I spend a good chunk of my spare time house shopping or wishlisting at least! When we move in, we will be moving just down the road from our local Matalan, which is a pretty brave move to make as my entire wages will probably end up being spent in there, after the bills come out of course!

If you have seen my Instahauls, see here, then you will have probably already guessed that I have a cream and hearts kind of theme going on. I wasnt particularly going for a theme, it just kind of happened along the way and ive decided to stick with it! The heart shaped mirror will look perfect in my downstairs toilet and the sign could go in the downstairs hall. We already have some heart print glasses but I think these ones will mix in nicely with the set. The owl mug doesn't really go with my kitchenware but I couldn't help including it as its super, I guess it kinda fits in with the colour scheme!

With Winter fast commencing, I have become a little obsessed with cosy cushions and throws, who the hell am I trying to kid?! I've always been obsessed! We don't have a real fire, the one that the homeowners are leaving us is electrical but I love a touch of rustic decor and think the log basket will look perfect in the corner with a throw and a magazine or two displayed in it! I am such a messy person but I hate to see clutter so these storage boxes will look lovely next to the TV stand or in my office to store Cds and DVDs in!

A house never feels like a home without the finishing touches like this bell jar candle and these decorative perfume bottles, which I will probably put on a table in the hall whilst these laterns will keep my conservatory looking cosy in the evening.

I could have included a hell of a lot more in this wishlist but I wouldn't want to bore you guys, so here's the link if you want to check the collection out for yourself! Have you bought anything from Matalan recently?!
