Organically certified, vegan approved and cruelty free accredited? It's possible with Pai!

There's just something about that feeling you get when you've completed your skincare routine, your skin smells amazing and it feels clean, clear and soft to touch.

We all have flaws, and for some of us that means a constant battle with the our skin. With the skin on our face coming into view on a daily basis, and being so delicate, it becomes a little more important to take care of it, especially when it comes to the Autumn and Winter months, with the weather wreaking havoc on it.

I've seen Pai Skincare a few times through posts on Instagram by various bloggers, and I'm a sucker for cute packaging, which led me to their website. I'm not one to splash my cash if I haven't heard a lot about the product, and even then I can more often than not be a little skeptical, so when I saw that Pai offer a Trial Set at just £5 with a free muslin cloth worth £3, I knew I had to have it! The delivery is super fast too, it arrived the day after ordering; and if all of that isn't good enough, all of Pai's products are organically certified, vegan approved and cruelty free accredited, as I'm sure you can tell, I am pretty much in love with the range already.

The night these arrived, I took to my usual routine, I took a shower, washed my hair, applied a hair mask and then started with my skincare routine, but this time I chose to use my Pai sampling set in replacement of my trusty old Liz Earle, shocking I know! I chose to use the Cleanser, Exfoliater and Hydrating Day Cream, here are my thoughts so far...

Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser 5ml

I started by massaging the cleanser into my face and neck using circular motions to remove any excess makeup, I then rinsed the muslin cloth under warm running water and used it to remove the cleanser. I then splashed my face with cool water to close the pores and patted my face dry with a clean towel. This stuff smells so amazing, you can really smell the oils in it and it leaves skin so soft. The cleanser melts in your fingertips and sinks into the skin with ease, allowing in to really work it's magic.

Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliater 4ml

After cleansing I massaged the exfoliater into my face, concentrating on any dry areas, I then added a little moisture to my fingertips and massaged again to turn the exfoliater in a milkier solution. I then rinsed this off with warm water and gently patted my face dry with a clean towel. This exfoliater works so well with the cleanser to achieve silky soft skin! The smell is just divine, I could sit and smell it all day! Is that wierd?! The exfoliating beads are amazing because they start off as little particles but when massaged in, they disappear, they are also just on the right side of exfoliating, as they're rough enough to dig deep, but not too rough that they would break the skin, and I think that's so hard to find in an exfoliater.

Avocado & Jojoba Hydrating Day cream 5ml

I love Avocado for it's hydrating properties and with winter creeping up on us, my skin needs some serious hydrating, so naturally I chose to use this moisturiser out of the four provided. After cleansing and exfoliating, I massaged this into my face and neck concentrating on dry areas such as the sides of my nose and my lips. This smells beautiful and leaves the skin baby soft whilst soothing any dry areas and keeping skin hydrated.

Also included:

Camomile & Roship Sensitive Skin Cream 5ml

Macadamia & Rose Dry Skin Cream 5ml

Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream 5ml

These all smell amazing, and make your skin super soft, which of Pai's products don't? I love that Pai have a good selection of moisturisers to suit specific needs, such as hydration!

Have you tried Pai yet? What are your thoughts?

A magic potion to transform the eyes...

Finding the perfect mascara is like finding the perfect pair of jeans, it takes some time, but when you find it, you know!

And Revlon Lash Potion is definitely my perfect mascara!

I bought this mascara around eight weeks ago, but I wanted to be sure how I felt about it before I reviewed it. Like any time you find the perfect item, be it beauty, skin care or hair care; I have toyed with the idea of using other mascaras but I simply keep going back to this one!

This mascara is seriously amazing, it doesn't clump or flake like most high street mascaras do, it adds so much length and volume and the packaging looks gorgeous too, what more could you possibly want?!

I do have the non - waterproof version, which does seem to have had some negative reviews due to it leaving a little transfer under the eyes after a few hours of wear. However I haven't come across this problem too much as I tend to use Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara on my bottom lashes, and just use the Revlon Lash Potion on my top lashes. When I have used this on the bottom lashes, I've found that the transfer is nothing a cotton bud can't fix anyway. If transfer is a problem for you, then I have heard that the waterproof version doesn't budge one bit and therefore doesn't leave any transfer. When this mascara runs out I will definitely head out and try the waterproof version as my curiosity always gets the better of me.

Overall I would seriously recommend this mascara to anyone wanting to try out a new one because in my eyes it's pretty perfect!

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Primark Haul

Primark is just one of those shops that I have a complete love/hate relationship with, and when I popped in a few weeks ago, I actually loved it, a lot! I tried so many things on that I really loved but I had to use a teeny bit of will power and put some things back as I am currently 'saving' to move out, so far, not so good...seems to be the story of my life, here's the pieces I decided I 'needed'...

White Dressing gown - £4 - Sale

I've had my eye on this dressing gown for weeks, but I already have two, completely different, but dressing gowns none-the-less and as this is more of a summer style dressing gown, I decided that I really didn't need it..until I saw it in the sale that is. At £4 I just couldn't leave it! Could I?! This is such a pretty, timeless dressing gown in my opinion, with gorgeous spots embroidered all over, and frilled edging.  I just know it's one of those that I'll get so much wear out of, providing I don't cover it in makeup of course.

Lace Blouse - £5 - Sale

This is another item that I have had my eye on for weeks! Since I dyed my hair blonde, I have been warming to a lot paler colours, and seem to be purchasing a lot more white and cream, as they seem to make my hair appear lighter, honestly, I swear it does. So of course, I just couldn't leave this blouse either, it has such pretty lace detailing and will look perfect with anything from pencil skirts to jeans. What's not to love?

Cable Knit Jumper - £12

I've always had a love for cable knit jumpers, but I have never been able to find one that suited me and they always seem to make me appear a lot larger than I am. I decided to give this one a try anyway, as they only had one left in the whole store and in all honesty it was a complete panic buy! However I have really fallen in love with this jumper as it doesn't really add any weight onto me at all, is super comfy and is quite thick, so I know it will keep me warm. I have already snuggled up in this, teamed with black leggings and my slipper boots...the perfect outfit for the perfect Autumn night.

Flocked Pattern Midi Dress - £12

I think it's safe to say that I have a little bit of an obsession with Midi dresses at the moment, just a tad, especially the body con style ones, because they are just so comfy and flattering and the length is always perfect! Being as though I'm 5ft 9, maxi dresses are too long and normal dresses are too short but midi dresses are always spot on, and Goldilocks was finally happy...All of the ones that I currently have are just plain colours, so I instantly fell in love with this patterned one, especially as the flocked pattern seems to come around every autumn/winter and the sleeves are 3/4 meaning I can still keep warm.

I was so happy with these key pieces to my A/W wardrobe, have you been shopping in Primark lately? what did you buy?

A/W Haul

Come payday my wishlist is always as long as both arms put together, and this payday my list was even longer, so of course I had to narrow it down on my latest shopping trip and I decided to go for some A/W staples with a few added extras, here's what I got...

Black Diamond Quilted Jersey Jacket - River Island - £35

I couldn't help but fall in love with this jacket after seeing it on belles boutique's autumn haul video, and the day after watching it I went I obviously had to go out and buy it! The pictures here really don't do it any justice, apologies, it just wasn't working for me, so pop over to Laura's video if you want to see how gorgeous it really is. It is a thin, lightweight jacket, so it doesn't keep you particularly warm, but it is amazingly comfy and is so easy to pair with most outfits, so i think we can bypass this little blip, I usually team it with the jeans and boots in this haul below, as they're just the perfect A/W combination.

Embellished Knitted Cardigan - Zara -£35.99

Whenever Autumn appears, I make it my mission to hunt down the comfiest, coziest, fluffiest cardigan I can find, and this year, it didn't take me long at all! I don't usually shop in Zara, shock, horror, i know, but I find it over priced for the quality of the clothing. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Zara bag, and I am loving their perfumes too, but any item of clothing I have ever bought there has fell apart within weeks! The only reason I went in this time was to stock up on my Zara Black perfume, when I spotted this cardigan and fell in love! This is definitely the perfect winter cardi, and goes well with absolutely everything!

Denim Leggings - Next - £24

You know how they say every girl needs to find the perfect fitting jeans? Well these are mine! With my weight having been up and down constantly for the past three years, due to health issues, I've never been able to find a pair that particularly fit me, but my weight has been steady since January, yay me, and so I decided it was finally time to find the pair! Again it didn't take me long, I've done well this month, and ok I'm kinda cheating as they're called leggings, but they are more like a stretchy, soft jean and oh em gee they fit like a glove, AND they do make my ass look pretty good too, what's not to love?! Dan's mum even loved them so much on me, that she's bought some too!

Cut Out Cropped Tee - Primark - £3

This top was one of those, quick-primark-is-shutting-in-ten-minutes-grab-what-you-can purchases, and they actually only had size 12's and 16's left, I'm usually a size 10 so I picked up the size 12 for an oversized look, and I actually really like this top! Paired with high waisted jeans or leggings, boots and a jacket, it's a really nice touch to a lazy day outfit with the cutout flowers making it super cute and for £3 I really can't grumble!

Tartan Scarf - Primark - £4

So...Tartan's big, and I'm a sheep! I've never really been a big tartan fan, but this season it seems to be preetty huge! So I decided adding a few key pieces of the trend couldn't hurt, and what better way to start it off than with accessories? so when I saw this scarf in Primark for just £4 I thought why not?! And I've actually really fallen in love with it, I've had so many compliments when wearing this, which is always so nice, and I actually find it goes quite well with, well, just about everything!

Fringed Shoulder Bag - Primark - £10

I really needed a new, bigger bag for work, as I have a lot to carry... phone, keys, notebook, lunch, kitchen sink....and I love a Fringed bag! It's large, it's black, it has a shoulder strap, it just pretty much ticked all the boxes, so of course it went straight into my basket and I've used it everyday since this baby came home with  me!

Black cut out Buckle Side Chelsea Boots - Riverisland - £35

I have been lusting after some cut out boots for so so long, I included them in my Autumn Wishlist a few weeks ago, so come payday I just had to go buy some, I love that the cut-out adds a little quirkyness and style compared to all the other black boots out there. The ones in my wishlist were actually from ebay and look almost identical for just £23.99 but I couldn't wait any longer and had already spotted these on the R.I website so I just bit the bullet and bought them. They aren't actually on the R.I website in black anymore, I'm guessing they could have sold out, but they also do them in red which can be purchased here. I wear these boots with the kind of socks that are designed for ballet pumps, as you can't see them that way and I don't like wearing boots without socks, I did make that mistake last week and now have a very painful blister on the back of my ankle! ouch! These are a little hard at first, but after a few wears they do start to give and become a lot more comfortable, you just need to 'wear the in'. I just love these little boots and they look great with anything from jeans to skirts.

Have you been shopping recently? what did you buy? I hope you enjoyed this haul and please let me know if you would like to see more,

Glossybox - The London Edition

Wow! How is it October already? I know we all say this, but...The days just seem to be flying by and Septembers Glossybox has been sat on my desk for wayyy too long now! So with Octobers box being due anytime soon...

Here's what I got in Septembers box...

Elizabeth Arden - Untold - Sample Size

This perfume smells truly amazing! I could sit and smell it all day... me? weird? never!
I've never really been the best at describing fragrances but I would say that this one is a really sophisticated and floral scent, which captures the modern working female. The scent is light enough for day and elegant enough for an evening dinner or drinks. The bottle is unique, with curvature, definition and illusion, the bottle appears to have diamond shaped cuts on both sides, however when you look closer there are lines on each side, cut only one way, but the opposite way on each side to create this illusion.

Eylure Pre-glued Lashes - Full Size

I was so excited to see these in my box, as I am hopeless at putting on false eyelashes, if there was ever an award for being the worst eyelash applier, I would definitely win it! I simply do not have the patience to wait for the glue to dry, and by the time it has dried, its practically in my eye and all over my eyelid, usually resulting in smudged eyeshadow and panda envying eyeliner, so in my eyes, excuse the pun, what could be better then pre-glued eyelashes? so much easier, right? However 30 minutes later and I became seriously disappointed with these. By the time i'd managed to adjust the eyelashes perfectly, roughly 10 minutes later, the 'glue' appeared to no longer be tacky and the eyelashes were simply falling off at the end, so I tried again to re-adjust and re-apply them, but another 20 mins later and I decided to finally give up. Maybe it's just because me and false eyelashes don't mix?! I have no idea! Did anyone else have a problem with these? let me know in the comments box below, but for now, I can't see me ever purchasing these eyelashes, which is such a shame as I find it to be such an ingenious idea!

Toni&Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Classic Shine & Gloss Serum - Full Size

Not so long ago, I couldn't have cared less about hair products, probably because my hair has always been in pretty good condition. However since I decided to go crazy and have it bleached, I've started to take more care of it, as paired with a head of coarse long locks, as I'm sure you can imagine, it has started to lack in strength, shine and moisture. So any hair treatments, serums and sprays that will help and I'm happy to try them. This product smells seriously good and left my hair supershiny, which is amazing as it usually looks so dull, the packaging is also limited edition and is designed by Lulu Kennedy, there's nothing better than having a product that is only available for a limited time.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner - Full Size

I'm that girl that wears eyeliner on a daily basis, my eyes just don't look the same without it! So of course I love to try out new eyeliners, and was so excited to see this in my Glossybox this month, especially because it's a felt-tip style nib, which I find the easiest to apply. This is a universal colour, fast drying, and easy to apply, if your not great at drawing cat eye flicks, try doing so with an eyeliner like this as it makes it ten times easier!

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips - Sample Size

In all honesty I don't think that this is a big enough sample to base a true opinion upon. I did find that this product initially made my lips smooth when applied, but whether it would help in the long term with my ridiculously dry, chapped lips, I can only hope. It's definitely not a big enough sample to try on dry skin but I do love when a product is multipurpose like this one, as it allows you to put one product in your handbag rather than say five which can be used for a multitude of problems.
The Glossybox card states that it can be used for:
  • chapped lips
  • burns
  • abrasions
  • minor incisions
  • cuticles
  • eczema
  • dry skin
  • mixing makeup such as pigments and glitter
  • shaping eyebrows
  • and even polishing your shoes!
This product also gets a thumbs up from me for being 100% natural, hypoallergenic and scent free which means it can be used on you, your partner and your children, an essential for any handbag!

Overall I was really happy with my Glossybox this month, I love the new magazine that they've included, and the birchbox style product card, these really excited me as soon as I saw them, as I guess I feel like I'm getting a little extra for my money, and I'm obsessed with magazines! My only qualm with this month's box is that, when flitting through Instagram, my all time love, I found that some people had received a full sized HD or Rimmel Blusher instead of the tiny sample of lip balm, which I really don't think is a fair swap, and of course I always want what I don't have but I guess that's just how some months of Glossybox goes.

Are you subscribed to glossybox? What did you get in your box this month?
