The Liebster Award

Hiya lovelies!

As you can probably guess by the title, I was kindly nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely Kayla from Kaylaloveskosmetics, this is such a lovely thing to receive and a great way to get new blogs further out into the blogosphere.

I have researched this award for a few days now and there are so many different versions and opinions of this award but there is no official page to tell you about it and how it came about. Therefore I have chosen to just stick to the rules Kayla has chosen to use.

The rules:

- Link back and recognize the blogger who nominated you,
- Give 11 random facts about yourself,
- Answer the 11 questions that have been given by the nominator,
- Nominate 11 other bloggers for this award (they must have less than 200 followers,)
- Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer,
- Let your nominees know that you have nominated them by notifying them on their blog.

11 Random facts about me:

1 - I am 22 years old,
2 - I am 5ft 9 so I guess you could say I'm tall!
3 - I have irritable bowel syndrome and am currently undergoing tests at the hospital as 5 years on, it's got worse, not better,
4 - I have always had a chocolate addiction and can eat a large bar in minutes, this does not help when I have IBS,
5 - I have PCOS and fear that I will never have children,
6 - I am terrified of spiders, if there's one in a room I wont go back in there till I know it's been removed,
7 - I have been with my fiance for nearly 8 years, we got engaged on the 24th June this year at the top of Mount Tiede in Tenerife,
8 - I think it's safe to say I have a shopping addiction,
9 - I took a year out after school to decided what I wanted to do with my life, I still have no idea!
10 - I'm naturally brunette but was white blonde as a child,
11 - I am obsessed with notebooks, I buy pretty ones and don't write in them, as I love clean paper?!

Kayla's 11 questions for her nominees:

1 - what classes did you choose to take for your GCSE's?

I chose to take Expressive Arts, Fine Art, Food Technology, Business Studies and German, I then had to take English Literature, English Language, Maths and Science A&B as they were mandatory subjects.

2 - what is your least used make-up item?

My least used makeup item is probably lipliner,

3 - Do you do your own eyebrows or have them done professionally?

I usually do my own but when I have chance, I book in with my mum who is a beauty therapist, it's just hard to find the time!

4 - what is your favourite song at the moment?

Panic cord by Gabrielle Aplin

5 - who is your favourite Youtuber/ Blogger?

Tanya Burr without a doubt! She's so happy and bubbly, if I'm having a bad day, I just watch one of her video's and it will instantly put a smile on my face!

6 - One piece of advice that you would tell your younger self?

Don't worry about what people think of you so much. You won't be friends with even half of the same people after you leave school, so focus on the ones that are important to you and that treat your right and forget about those who aren't!

7 - What is your favourite mascara?

Revlon Lash Potion

8 - What was the first concert you went to?

The Zutons

9 - Name one product that Youtubers/ Bloggers 'made you buy' ?

I first started watching youtube videos by beauty bloggers such as Tanya Burr and Sara Walker in around September last year, and coming up to christmas they all started to talk about soap and glory products all the time, so I ended up purchasing my first soap and glory products as I need to see what all the hype was about.

10 - How many Apple gadgets do you own and what are they?

I don't actually own any Apple products, I really want a Macbook but I don't think I will be getting one any time soon.

Jewels and Velvet

When I first spotted this Elizabeth Arden Jewels and Velvet Compact for Eyes in my local Savers store, I was extremely excited, but when I saw that it was only £1.99, I must admit that I was a little skeptical about how it would be. This is crazy cheap for an eyeshadow palette anyway, let alone one from Elizabeth Arden and so I figured the stock must be damaged or just a really naff product.

That being said, I was more than happy to give it a go anyway, especially for that price and I must say I was really surprised! As you can see in the pictures above, the product isn't damaged, the compact itself is gorgeous, with a black stitched quilted design in a silky material and it's even small enough to fit in your handbag, perfect for those touch ups on a night out.

If the compact hadn't already amazed me, I found that the colours really did! They are actually really highly pigmented, they blend amazingly well, and they even last a full day at work! My favourite combination so far has been an everyday touch on the smokey eye, using sandstone as a base colour with plum smoke blended into the crease, which I have had so many compliments on when wearing! Simple yet understated..

Overall I was really pleased with this product, I haven't found a fault with it yet, and therefore I'm guessing that it is just a discontinued line of stock,  I am even tempted to go back for a few more to use as stocking fillers for friends and family, yes I am already on that christmas hype!

Have you tried this Elizabeth Arden palette? What did you think?

Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayons

How many Lip Crayons does a girl need you ask? Well two more couldn't hurt could it?

I apologise as I am a little late with this post, but I thought, why not?!

The Bourjois Colour Boost Pens are one of the latest crazes that hit us during this summer, but they're perfect to take into A/W too, as they are amazingly moisturising and hydrating!

I purchased 'Peach on the beach' and 'Red Sunrise' which are both gorgeous colours, however I have taken more of a shine to 'Red Sunrise' which did surprise me as everyone has been raving about 'peach on the beach.' Honestly, I find this colour too pale, and it makes me look equally as pale, however funnily enough, I do feel that this suits those with fairer skin. 'Red Sunrise' on the other hand is a gorgeous red toned pink, which is perfect for an evening out, though I do love to pair it in the day with a more simple outfit to add a little contrast.

What I love about these lip crayons most is that they are super moisturising, which is perfect for me as I have dry, flaky lips all year round, they also add a great pop of colour whilst protecting lips with an SPF 15. The only downside is that it needs topping up often.

Have you tried the famous Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayons? What did you think?
