Clinique High Impact Mascara

Hi Girlies!

As I'm sure you are all aware now, I kind of collect/accumulate/hoard (delete as appropriate) a hell of a lot of Clinique products, though being a beauty blogger, I think that's acceptable.

I also seem to become a bit of a hoarder when it comes to mascaras, and makeup in general, but one of my all time favourite mascaras that I always seem to return to is Clinique's High Impact mascara in 11 Brightening Black.

This mascara has a bristle brush applicator, which I have to admit is my favourite type of applicator, as it helps to achieve extra volume, length and curl.

I apply two coats of this mascara for extra thick lashes on a night out, which can be perfectly teamed with a dark smokey eye and winged liner for a sexy sultry look.

And for a day time look I use one coat teamed with 'no makeup' makeup, as the mascara really helps to perk up the eyes and along with undereye concealer helps you to look like you've had a full eight hours, even if you haven't.

I would highly recommend this product for those of you that want to achieve these results, or similar. The mascara does not flake or clump and is highly pigmented, what's not to love?

Which Clinique mascara do you love?

No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner

Hiya Girlies!

I recently discovered what I feel may be a new staple for my skincare routine!

I picked up No7's Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner in a panicked frenzy, as usual, when I realised that my Boots No7 £5 off skincare voucher was about to run out, last time around, yes,, i'm that girl.

As always I was drawn in by the packaging and perfection of this bottle, simple, yet so elegant.
However what really intrigued me about this toner, was the description, including the words gentle, non-drying and hypo-allergenic. The majority of toners that I have used in the past, and I have used many, I find are always really harsh on my skin; I wouldn't particularly describe my skin as sensitive, maybe a little delicate, but some toners can leave my face red, dry and stinging. So after previous experiences, this product seemed worth a try, and at £3 with your £5 off voucher it's a bargain too!

Well i'm so happy to say, after recently repurchasing my second bottle, that this toner really does do what it says on the bottle! It is a really soft and gentle toner, that leaves your face feeling fresh, clean and smooth, with no stinging, red or dry skin in sight!

After cleansing my face, I apply the toner to three cotton wool pads, I sweep one over my face and neck, to remove any excess makeup or cleanser and one over each eye, to prevent spreading any eye infections that may be lurking. You can even get it in your eyes, though i would try and avoid this with any product, and it doesn't sting those either.

I really do love this product and having already purchased another bottle, I feel many more trips to Boots coming along in the future.

Have any of you tried this product? Or any other similar products? Let me know in the comment box below.

Wish Upon A Jar Wonder Face Cream

Hiya Girlies!

It's that time again when I notice the toll the weather has taken on my skin and decide to reunite myself with Wish Upon A Jar.

The moment my eyes fell upon Wish Upon A Jar, I just knew I had to have it!

I am so easily led by the packaging of a product, that when I saw this gorgeous, perfectly rounded, shiny little jar, I immediately began to imagine it decoratively positioned on my bedroom unit.

Wish Upon A Jar is a 21 day collagen cream, which promises to be full of benefits, including improving moisture, smoothing fine lines and brightening tired skin. With the use of Youthflake diamond spheres, this cream is able to minimise the appearance of almost any skin flaws.

This is an anti-ageing product primarily, however being twenty-one, I do not use the product for this specific purpose. I find that this product works best for me, by visibly reducing the look of my dry, blemished and dull skin. When my skin is dry, the lines that go from my nose to my mouth when I smile, (Yes, those ones,) become very deep and dry, and therefore my foundation doesn't sit well on this area. Using this cream reduces these lines and allows my foundation to sit perfectly on top, creating a flawless look. It also makes my skin look so much brighter, more awake and so much more youthfull, leaving me with a smile on my face all day!

However this wonder cream does have a flaw of its own! It can only be used for a period of 21 days at a time, and trust me, with the benefits your skin will reap, you will want to use this product everyday for the rest of your life! (Yes, it really is that good!) The product recommends to leave a gap inbetween use, I believe this is also 21 days, and it really is hard to keep away, and not just reach for that jar for a sneaky application.

After cleansing and toning, I apply a small amount of Wish Upon A Jar all over my face and neck, avoiding the delicate areas (eyes and lips.) I apply this in place of my moisturiser, or if my skin is feeling incredibly dry, I use it underneath my favourite moisturiser. I apply this day and night for 21 days straight (marking this out in your diary helps to keep count!)

I would recommend this product for anyone with the above concerns mentioned, and even for those who just feel the need for a skin perfecting pick-me-up!

Have any of you tried this product or a similar one? Please let me know in the comment box below.

Elemis Fresh Skin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser

Hiya Girlies!

This months Cosmopolitan magazine (£3.60) has a choice of three Elemis Fresh skin products, there are two moisturisers and a lip balm to choose from (but which one to choose?). I loved my product so much that I just had to let you guys know!

My skincare routine is a really important part of my beauty regime! As without a clean canvas you cannot paint a clean picture!

However I have so many freakin moisturisers, I never know which one to choose!
(Though I feel this could be a new favourite!)

Elemis Fresh Skin Softly Softly Daily Moisturiser

The Fresh Skin range was created by Elemis for 'young skin' with the aim of targetting 'problem, oily and blemish prone skin.' As I suffer from awfully blemished skin (Pcos dramas) this product should be well suited.

The product is a sample size of 25ml which I think is fab, as there is enough to test the product long enough to know whether or not it works for your skin. Most samples don't do this, which means they go to waste as they're usually tossed into my makeup basket and forever forgotten about. (Not what the companies had in mind, I'm sure!)

The product promises to be 'free from parabens, sls, sles, dea, mineral oils, artificial colours and silicones' and is also 'dermatologically tested' which I think are important factors for skincare products. (I am easily swayed towards a product if it has these benefits)

The product is very light, and a little goes a long way, which I love! (Nothing worse than a moisturiser that needs to be applied thickly!) It smells absolutely divine! With rosehip seed and almond oils, im sure you can imagine the sweet scent now! (Heavenly!)

After cleansing and toning my skin, I apply a small blob (roughly 5p size) of the mosituriser into my hands, and using firm upward strokes, apply the mosituriser to my face and neck, I then apply my lip balm and leave to work itself in whilst I do my hair, before finally applying my makeup.

I really would recommend this product, and will be rushing out to purchase a full sized bottle as soon as this one is half way down. I've had my eye on the cleansers, as they look fabulous too!

Did any of you guys try this product or any of the others? Please let me know in the comment box below!

Glossybox March - City Chic

Hiya Girlies!

So I actually received my March Glossybox on-time this month! Yay! This mad me happy! And I was so excited to open it! Probably because it's my birthday at the end of the month, and it felt like I was getting a present early!

I am going to London for my birthday as a treat from my boyfriend, (I know, hes a keeper!) And this will be my first time visiting London, so I am ridiculously excited! (I'm a complete city girl at heart!)
Therefore the city chic theme fits in perfectly for my month ahead!

Travelling to London by train and packing for three days, means I will have to be wise in deciding what to pack, and these minatures will be fabulous to take with me. Therefore this means that  I have decided to save them aside until then, but of course I have had a cheeky test, especially for you guys (honestly!) to let you know what I think about them.

TRESemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray

This hairspray has a great hold, putting all flyaways in their place! It brushes through well and has that trademark TRESemme smell! Its also the perfect size to pop into your handbag for nights out and of course an essential for travelling!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Fragrance Free

I could not contain my excitement when I saw this product in this months box! I have wanted to try this multi-purpose cream for so long! But for some reason, I have never purchased it! Its also the perfect size to carry in your bag, especially for those much needed touch ups when you leave the plane/train/car!
So I couldn't help feeling let down when I actually tried the product! Not that the product itself doesn't work, i'm sure it works perfectly, but an important aspect of a product for me, (that can easily sway my decision towards one,) is smell! This product smells..well...a little off, and its supposed to be fragrance free! The smell gets a littler nicer once fully rubbed in, but I don't fancy something that doesn't smell great on my lips. Nevertheless, I am still going to head to boots this week and check out the frangranced version, as I am still keen to try the product out.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Blush

I love lip sticks/stains/balms/glosses, you name it, if it's a lip product, you can guarantee i'll fall in love with it! This is a gorgeous bright pink, perfect for the summer and nights out. Unfortunately my lips are in poor condition at the moment, due to this ridiculously cold weather, so I cannot give a true opinion on this product untill they are in tip top condition. My initial thoughts were that it felt quite powdery and would be perfect to double up as a blusher! This I will be trying when I go to London!

Nails Inc Nail Polish in St.James

Being a nail technician, I usually have nail extensions or gel polish on my nails, but sometimes its nice to give them a break and apply a normal nail polish. This colour is a gorgeous pinky red, and when applying coats thinly, this dries really quickly. Its the perfect size to pop into your handbag for any touchups needed, and is the perfect colour to take away on holiday with you.

Juicy Couture - Couture La La

This Eau de Parfum Spray smells uh-ma-zing!It has a gorgeous elegant floral smell, and it stays with you all day! I will definitely be hinting to my boyfriend about this one for my birthday!

My Little Travelling Book

This month's fabulous freebie was thee cutest travel book! This could possibly be my favourite item in the box! It gives you a guide to thirteen popular destinations, from London to Toronto, including 3 top hot spots for each one, from bars to landmarks. It also includes nine travel related stickers which i will be using to decorate my notepad whilst on the train there.

Overall I loved this month's Glossybox! I Loved the theme, the product and the freebie!

If you too liked the products this month, or got something different in your box, please let me know in the comments box below.

Soap & Glory haul

Hi Girlies!

I have become a little Soap & Glory obsessed as of late! Especially with all the luscious lotions and potions available at boots, and their 3 for 2 offers! (damn them offers!) Being as though I received all things Soap & Glory at christmas (seriously, I dont think there was any member of my family that didn't get me an item from their range!) it was just an accident waiting to happen, when I found myself falling upon their makeup range once again. (Me, obsessed? yeh...right?!)
So here's what I bought...

Soap & Glory Show good Face 2-in-1 Foundation and Primer 30ml in 'A good light'
£8.00 usually £11.00 (Buy here)
This foundation surprised me, as im always a little sceptical when products are 2-in-1, as I usually find they don't work at all like they're supposed to. But this foundation stays on surprisingly well, a little goes a long way and the product is easily layered for buildable coverage.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer Three Piece Camouflage Kit £7.00 usually £10.00 (Buy here)
I truly do love this product! One side is an undereye brightening concealer, which makes your eyes look so much more awake. The second side is a spot concealer, which gives great coverage! These both work best when set with the powder provided in the top! This makes foundation glide over the concealers perfectly, the mirror in the top also makes this a fab product to pop in your handbag for when your on the go.

Soap & Glory Cheekmate Cheek & Lip Stain in Rosy Glow £8.00 (Buy Here)
I'm not going to lie, I really do not get on with this product at all, I have tried using it as a cheek stain, but I've never been able to use stains or creams on my cheeks, if it isn't powder, I don't usually use it. But I am always willing to try, (hence the bloomin purchase.) I also tried using it as a lip stain, but it doesn't apply very well, and makes my lips dry, so I gave up on that idea too. Don't get me wrong, this product may work well for others, but for me, not so well.

Mini Makeup Haul

Hi girlies!

So once again I found myself in Boots (I just cannot keep away!) I had only popped in for an eyeliner, and of course, I came out with more, so I thought I'd share with you what I bought and my thoughts on them...

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 125 £7.99 (Buy here)
I've really wanted to try this foundation for so long, but I currently have four others on the go, so wasn't sure if I should really buy another, but as usual, I caved!
Although I tan naturally, and my skin is usually an olive colour; last time i got a foundation matched, they said I had a pink undertone to my skin, which really shocked me! So when looking at the fit me foundation colours (there are so many) I went for the palest shade(the sun's been hiding too long,)with a pink undertone, and this seems to be such a perfect fit for my skin! Yay!
The foundation is smooth, covers my spots so well, and just one pump is plenty! (i usually use 2 with most foundations)

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H in 01 Black £7.99 (Buy here)
So I am absolutely hopeless when it comes to using eyeliner, and particularly doing flicks! But I had seen some really good reviews on this eyeliner, and that it was easy to achieve a flick with the brush provided! And waddya know? The reviews were spot on! I am so in love with this eyeliner, Its so smooth, easily glides on, stays on all day (hence the 24h ;p) and I can actually do a decent flick with it! Wahoo!

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express in Black Drama £7.99 (Buy here)
I can never find a decent mascara, in all honesty, I never like mascaras, there always clumpy and dry out too quick, and I never really rate them! After seeing this one in beauty blogs and reviews all the time, I thought with Maybelline being on 3 for 2, that I may aswell give it a go (what's another one to the collection? right?) and oh my gosh, this is so good, after applying this, I actually appear to have long, curly lashes! Finally! Its also a great colour (yes, the right shade of black makes all the difference) and it doesn't seem to clump! (well, not yet!)

Barry M Gelly Hi-shine Nail Paint in Lychee £3.99 (Buy here)
Again, another product that I have wanted for so long, and I finally caved and bought it! (why?! do I always cave?!) I seriously could not wait to get this on, I was that eager, that I painted my thumb in the doctors, whilst waiting to attend an appointment, and I found it rather amusing that whilst its drying you can tap it, and in a couple of minutes it bouces back, and looks like you never touched it! ( I know, I know, small minds...) I really loved the colour, and of course the shine, but to be honest, i work with nails, and I am used to having gel polish on, which is touch dry when cured, and I just do not have the patience to wait for this to dry! However I think I may try it under my gel topcoat and see how that works!

Well, Thankyou for reading lovelies, if you too like the products or maybe don't, please let me know your opinion in the comments box,

Much Love Abbie x

Whats in my beauty bag

Hi girlies!

So I bought a new floral beauty bag from my local boots store at the weekend to put my eveyday essentials in, it is the perfect size, a wipeable material and was an absolute bargain at just £3.00. And so i thought why not share with you guys what exactly my essentials are...

Liz Earle cleanse & polish

I'm sure that you've all heard of this product, but if not, it really is amazing! When I was younger, I always remember having a cheeky try of my mums Liz Earle products, as she has used them for years, and ever since ive been hooked. The hot cloth cleanser smells so nice, leaves my skin feeling so soft, and makes me feel happy, for some reason, after using it (hey, if it works, why not?)

No7 Soft and Soothed Gentle Toner

A few weeks back, I had a voucher for £5 off No7 (you know, those boots vouchers that end up cluttering the bottom of your handbag) and i'd ran out of my usual nivea toner, so i thought id check the range out. I thought this bottle would look so cute in my bathroom (im a sucker for packaging) and it was only £3 with the voucher, so i thought id give it a go, and whaddya know? im hooked! It so refreshing, and works so well! (as you can see, im nearly out! Boots here i come!)

Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File

This is my absolute favourite nail file! It goes everywhere with me, it works so well, you can use it back and forth without damaging your nails and it looks so cute!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturing lotion

Now this isn't my favourite moisturiser, not that theres a problem with it, it just doesnt work well with my skin. My skin is very dry and i feel that i need a lot of product for this to do anything to my skin, however it is a small, handy little bottle, thats useful to pop into my bag, for whenever i feel i need that little bit of extra moisturisation, here or there.

Clinique All About Eyes

I really do love this little pot of joy! I just dab a few tiny spots of this around my eyes, after my skincare routine, morning and night, and allow it to sink in. I find that a little product goes a long way, and it reduces any puffiness, smoothes out any lines, and makes your skin look glowing!

Tangle teezer

Ahh, where would i be without my tangle teezer? Because my hair is so thick, and it has bleach on the ends, it soons gets knotty, and when its wet, there isnt a lot i can do with it, but the tangle teezer means i can brush it, without being reduced to tears! Yay!

The next four products were all recieved in my glossybox subscription boxes, and have started to become my beauty staples!

Balance Rescue Face Tonique

I know, I know, I have two toners in my bag, but with this being such a small bottle, and i usually use a lot of toner, I use my No7 Toner to ensure all traces of makeup are removed, and then sweep this over my face to ensure that it is extra clean and refreshed. This one smells so nice, as it contains essential oils, which help with spots.

Rituals Magic Touch Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk Whipped Body Cream

This smells absolutely amazing! Though I wouldnt advise wearing it to bed, as the smell is a little too strong, and it kept me awake! But this is perfect to pop on all over your body, after jumping out of the shower in a morning, as its really hydrating on the skin, and the smell lasts all day!

Monu Microexfoliant

I cannot recommend this product enough! This deeply exfoliates the skin, leaving your skin feeling soft and clean, i also apply a tiny amount on my lips (but be careful if doing this as you dont want to damage them) and this removes all of the dead skin, leaving them super smooth!

Figs and Rouge
This really is an amazing multipurpose balm. After exfoliating my lips, i apply this balm to leave them feeling super smooth, this works great at night time as it keeps them hydrated during the night. It also works well in a morning, as i leave it to soak whilst doing my hair and applying my makeup, this then leaves a super smooth base to apply my lipstick, leaving them looking kissably smooth!

I always carry cotton wool pads for my toner, and cotton buds for makeup smudges in my beauty bag.

My review of the january glossybox can be reviewed here & the february glossbox here.

If you would like a full review on any of the products mentioned above, please leave me a comment in the comments box below and let me know :)

Thankyou for reading and let me know if you too like the product mentioned, or if you have a different opinion :)

Make Up Academy (M.U.A) Haul

Hi Girlies!

When popping into my local superdrug store a few weeks ago, I came across the MUA and MUA Professional Ranges. I had gone in search of an eyeshadow palette with everyday, wearable colours and noticed that they had some really great palettes within this range that were actually affordable. So after browsing over the whole section (for a tad longer than needed,) I decided that at the great prices they were, that I might as well test a few of their products, in order to truly see if they were any good, and so I didn't just buy an eyeshadow palette!

Here's what I bought...

Eyeshadow Palette

There was a great range of eyeshadow palettes within the MUA Professional range, and it took me a very long time to choose one! In the end I chose the 'Undressed' palette which contains a range of soft nudes and shimmering metallics, the colours are absolubtly gorgeous and I have used these everyday since, I have enjoyed playing around with the colours and creating a range of looks from everyday nudes to intense smokey eyes! At just £4 for a palette of 12 colours, I cannot wait to go and pick my next palette!

Eyebrow Kit

Another product from the MUA Professional range that really intrigued me was the 'Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit' which contains two shades of powder, highlighter, gel, tweezers and a mirror. Again I love this product, and being as though I do my eyebrows on a daily basis, Im sure it wont be long until I am making a mad-dash to return and re-purchase this product when I run out. I think this was also £4 but am unsure as the website keeps crashing on me, it definitely wasn't over that, and therefore I think this is an absolute bargain!

Next is the MUA range, but the two products I purchased from this range, have a whole other story!
Both were only £1 each, so I was not expecting them to be fantastic but thought that I would give them a try.

Pressed Powder

I had ran out of powder and whilst I was trying out the range I thought I would try the one from this brand, I chose shade 3, and well, I am not particularly a pale person, I tan easy, and my skin is an olive colour most of the year round, but this powder unfortunately made me look, very, well, orange, it was also patchy and isnt a great consistancy, but what can you expect for £1?

These lipsticks had always intrigued me as they always have some gorgeous colours! The ones I really wanted were out of stock (this made me optomistic, if there gone, there good, right??) so i chose shade 3, which is a bright pink, in a desperation to at least be able to try the product. But.. this shade did not suit me at all! :( it feels lovely and smooth when applying but doesnt last very well, but again what can you expect for £1?

Overall, I think the range is pretty good if your on a budget, and I will definitly be repurchasing some of the products, just maybe steer clear of the pressed powder?! orange is NOT a good look!
